I loved the view and the food was very good. I felt the decor may be showing age but so are we! My husband is from SD and came of age when it was the place to go for a romantic dinner.

When my sister heard I was going to San Diego, The Marine Room was on her short list of places to dine. We loved the view as we enjoy filet mignon and fish. Very charming atmosphere. Don't miss this for a special occasion.

The Marine Room at high tide, especially when the sun is setting, is like the best postcard of La Jolla you have ever seen. Check the tide charts before making your reservation! On Mondays, the restaurant offers a prix fixe lobster dinner (advertised on its web site, though we had to ask for that menu when we arrived at the... More

The Marine Room high tide brunch is not to be missed. Reserve a window side table and you will be doubly treated. First with an elaborate and delicious brunch and second with the unique experience of waves crashing against the window next to you. Even if you can't reserve a window side table the brunch itself is excellent and the... More

If you really want to impress someone special -- your significant other or even a client -- the restaurant to go to is The Marine Room in La Jolla, CA. I just dined there again last night and it's becoming one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. The Marine Room is unique because it's one of the few restaurants... More

Took some friends to "High Tide Brunch". This weekend would be the last one of the season. What a fantastic time. The "buffet" was one of the most original and best we have ever seen. We have been to some very "upscale" buffets/brunches in Las Vegas, New Orleans etc. and there is none better than the Marine Room. Throw is... More

Me and my husband went here on the first day of restaurant week. The location of this restaurant is tucked away in a residential neighborhood right on the beach. I really don't think there is a bad seat in the house. The ideal location to be seated would be right in front of the window so you don't have another... More

This is a popular event at the restaurant which happens only a few times a year. The Marine Room is below street level with huge windows on the ocean. Views are spectacular and at high tide, the ocean is in your lap. I requested a window seat but quite frankly did not expect one. Much to our surprise we were... More

One of the very few restaurants in San Diego actually on the beach the Marine room does not seem to strive for continuous improvement. In contrast in Malibu California there are several restaurants on the ocean these have sought to provide an atmosphere that is always fresh. Considering that exorbitant prices going room should offer live entertainment in the form... More
