We had a terrific meal at the Marine Room. I had the sesame encrusted ahi tuna has perfectly prepared and my wife's pompano was lovely. As always, the service was top notch, though a bit slow. The only thing I found any fault with was the mediocre quality of the coffee. It tasted weak and old.

This restaurant is so close to the ocean they had but special windows so the waves wouldn't crash through. Beautiful sunsets in an elegant setting, but perfect anytime of day. Great brunch, lunch, cocktail hour or dinner. A must when in San DIego. Creative menu ,can be pricey but worth the dining experience I even bought their cookbook!

Food was good despite the high price. Guess You are paying extra for the view instead of the small portions of food. I had the lamb - - 3 very small chops which were a little tough which were served along with very few small veggies. They did make a great Chopin Martini. Wine by the glass was a laugh... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The location is incredible with the water from the ocean just steps outside the windows. Food was impeccable - we had a great steak, lobster, an amazing oyster sampler w/ different types of caviar on each oyster. Service was spot on - friendly but not overly. nor intrusive but never... Well, The Marine Room is an institution. It's got the high-end trappings that the wealthy expect. Waiters in suits, overpriced meals and wine, beautiful setting and fancy sounding dishes. My complaint is that the overpriced meals don't really live up to the hype! Lamb Osso Buco was very bland, seared Ahi had a slimy quality and the Lobster Bisque was... More

Regardless of the view or ambiance, when paying $38pp for a buffet, I expect more than the Marine Room provided. Yes, the omelet station was good. Yes, there was a good selection of desserts. Unfortunately, for this price, I'd expect more than sausages and bacon. Carving station? Nope. Chilled shrimp? Nope. The croissants were great with some of the cheese... More

We really don't mind wasting the money, it's wasting one meal of vacation in a city of so many great restaurant choices which burns us up. Oh, and possibly the condescending attitude of our server. But the view is special, especially if you go at high tide, as we did, and sit by the window, as we did. But it... More

The setting of this restaurant -right at the waters edge, waves and sand with huge picture windows-really makes it worth while. The decor is nice, white table-but not particularly memorable as overshadowed by the view! The lobster bisque was super-just the right amount of sherry. The entrees were very good and well plated, but for the price you can do... More

The best location and the steaks in La Jolla!! Definitely pricey but if you are lucky enough to get a table by the window, the experience is worth every penny. Service is excellent and food is awesome. This is the go to for a special event.
