Watching the sunset from a table in this restaurant is an experience not to be missed. The scenic view is matched by superb food, from prime rib to pompano. From the reviews, it seems that some diners are disappointed by the food - we are not among them, and we will return.

It is obvious that the reviews for this restaurant range from 1 star to five stars. Personally, I rate this restaurant as one of the best in San Diego County. And clearly it is not a tourist trap, as we dine there on a regular basis, and with the exception of the summer, most of the diners are locals. The... More

What an expensive disappointment. Paying for the view , nothing else. Evening started with snobby and pretentious welcome. Huge slabs of stale bread. Mediocre appetizers arrived within minutes of order. Mismatched wine glasses for $90 bottle of wine. No ice bucket as requested ever arrived. Long wait for entree... Very small boring lobster tails. Then immediate dessert which was only... More

We had heard this was one of the best restaurants the San Diego area. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to that billing in any important area: The food was average (good but nothing special), and the service was inattentive and spotty. I had the Maine lobster tail, which was tiny and nothing like what I've had elsewhere. My wife had... More

This restaurant has a great location. It's right on the beach. It's such a romantic place. Waiter is professional and friendly. Food is awesome. We had a great time there. I want to go back badly.

The dining experience at the Marine Room in La Jolla is sui generis. The food and service are excellent, and the views spectacular. Save room for the desserts, for they will melt in your mouth. The best time to visit is in conjunction with “high tide.” Imagine enjoying a repast while high waves crash against the window panes. Window seating... More

Where do I start. The food was excelent. The place couldn't be more perfect. This restaurant sits right on the sand and you see the waves breaking all the time. The wall that faces th ocean is all glass. Great atmosphere and service.

The view here is spectacular and an added bonus is when the waves are very active, they actually crash against the windows. -This wasn't happening much on this visit, however. My husband and I along with many guests have done the High Tide breakfast multiple times over the last ten + years. It used to be a brunch which included... More

This was a sublime experience. Walking in you first notice the view, the waves crashing on the Pacific beach. You feel like you're eating on the shore itself but instead you're in a tastefully, quiet dining room. The service was great, attentive without being overwhelming. And the food! Every course was wonderful. I went with my spouse and we had... More

Wow, we got there at 830, waited 10 minutes for The Best Table in the house. Service was prompt for hide tide breakfast . Friendly too with a Full house. The buffet breakfast was superb, very good. I can't wait to do this again. The views and wildlife were awesome.
