This was the last meal of our vacation and my wife's birthday meal, so it needed to be special. We booked more than another on advance to ensure a window table at sunset. The location is amazing. Later, as the tide came in, the waves were splashing the window! The food was fantastic. The Blue Crab Cake starter fantastic. My... More

The Marine Room has one of the best views in San Diego. The service is impeccable and the food is very good. We found the menu to be slightly fussy and the ambience a bit cold. Overall though, this is a very special restaurant for special occasions.

The food and view here are outstanding. As is the service. Our waiter was so understand of us having our six year with us. He was a very jolly fellow. The food was so good and when I ordered an appetizer for my main meal he didn't blink an eye. It was expensive but a real treat. The view can't... More

Having eaten all over the world, sometime one becomes wary of a restaurant with amazing views. That is not the case at the Marine Room. The excellent food is reflected in the high quality ingredients that are second to none. Classic French techniques are used while incorporating some twists. My wild mushroom and potato appetizer was excellent, as was the... More

Views: The Marine Room boasts the finest ocean views, hands down, in all of San Diego, and likely all of California. This completely refurbished restaurant still feels every bit as mid century as it was back in the day -- Imagine classic clean horizontal lines, limestone, creamy white walls, white table cloths and practically floor to ceiling glass facing the... While the food and service were perfect, we were mesmerized by the views in this restaurant, which is built right into the seashore. Yes--waves were crashing into the windows right in front of us! One of the most interesting settings you will ever experience!! Highly recommend!!

I visited this restaurant twice during my stay in San Diego. First, the food was perfect. You cannot go wrong ordering seafood. Not only that, the filet mignon was the best I ever had. They also serve a Vesper, and you will remember it always. Order wine and desert, too, because they are worth it. The manager and waiters did... More

This was not our first time here, nor was it the first time we've brought the kids. Always PERFECT service and amazing food with superb ocean views. I love that the staff is never pompous or annoyed with children and treated our family well. The halibut is terrific as was the steak/lobster dish. The staff did a great job securing... More

We planned a sunset dinner at the Marine Room, timed to experience high tide that evening. We arrived a bit early and relaxed in the lounge, willing to wait for a window table to open up. The hostess was very accommodating and kept us posted, we finally did get a great table in the main room where we could experience... More

We have visited The Marine Room in La Jolla four times because it is excellent! The location is right on the ocean and faces the setting sun. Take sun-glasses as it is bright in the early evening. It has a comfortable up-market American feel serving a good menu based on French style but now best described as US/international. The wines... More
