The Venetian’s award-winning Italian cuisine (including what critics call some of San Diego’s best pizza), relaxed setting and casual atmosphere have earned generations of fans since Vince Giacalone first welcomed customers in 1965. Sons Joey and Frank proudly continue their family traditions, making sausage, soups and sauces from scratch and drawing a devoted, all-ages clientele. Highlights of the menu include bruschetta, seafood pastas, chicken and veal piccata, and thick- or thin-crust pizzas with either traditional or trendy toppings. Located in Point Loma, The Venetian’s friendly service and “Cheers” style vibe make it a favorite destination for date night, happy hour, dinner with friends or family celebrations. Seating includes the lively bar and patio (great for families and larger parties); comfy booths and banquettes; and a private wine cellar that can be reserved for parties of up to 16. Dinner nightly; lunch Monday-Friday; Sunday brunch; full bar.

Nice Italian Restaurant

Easily booked reservations online. Food excellent service as well. Meal was a little hurried and there was no need to - lots of empty tables. Seafood with pasta fabulous. Eggplant parm was average. Drinks excellent.

This would have been a three circle; but the noise was so bad that we could not carry on a conversation without leaning in and almost reading lips. There were four of us at a table in the second room. We could barely hear the person next to us; we could not hear the person across from us. The food... More

I dined at the Venetian with friends and co-workers on a recommendation. It was a great recommendation! The food was excellent, I had the traditional Veal Marsala. The service was impeccable. The wait staff was very accommodating as our party arrived at different times and some had young children who were hungry! I highly recommend this restaurant for Italian cuisine.... More

Found the restaurant on Open Table. A very nice evening, would return if back in the area again. Food was above average Italian fare.

Hard to imagine, but it is difficult to find a classic linguine a la vongole, or pasta with white clam sauce. You can find that dish and other simple italian food at this restaurant in Point Loma. Service was a little disrupted by multiple servers who appear young and inexperienced. The room is very loud, which is puzzling since there... More

I do a lot of reviews and I am usually pretty generous with my ratings and very rarely have I had to write a review such as this. We have been going here for years. We have eaten at the restaurant, gotten delivery and take out. Their food has always been excellent. We ordered our pizza and were told about... More

The food here is as good as it has ever been. I grew up eating Venetian pizza, and the incredible taste hasn't changed in over 30 years! Outstanding food and friendly staff.

If you enjoy fine Italian cooking with palate pleasing taste and freshness, may I suggest a visit to The Venetian Restaurant. Well known and frequented by local's, this establishment is worth visiting while staying in San Diego. The Pizzas are P-E-R-F-E-C-T!! The blend of sauce, seasonings and varied toppings and cheeses make for great dining in or take home experience!... More

If you're in the neighborhood of Point Loma, don't miss The Venetian. Their pizza is the best around, but their entrees are fabulous as well. It's a locals spot because the food is always great and the prices are so reasonable.

My family has been going to the Venetian since we moved to California in 1969. It is a tradition when all of us get together to have a great meal at Vince's, which is what we have always called it due to Vince who started the restaurant that his sons now own. I love this restaurant and will continue to... More
