The seafood at this restaurant come from the docks outside. Tourists on fishing trips and commercial fishing boats converge in this bustling Shelter Island harbor in the San Diego Bay. Your view is looking south from Point Loma to Shelter Island, with America's Cup harbor in between. Graceful sailboats and yachts, charter fishing boats that sleep thirty, jet skis, and... More

This was my first visit to Mitch's Seafood, and being a New Englander who knows good seafood, I was impressed! It is a very casual atmosphere, tees, shorts, and flip flops and the like. You stand in line in front of a huge blackboard with all of their offerings a few minutes and place your order at the counter, and... More

Wait in line for 10 to 15 minutes, order two fresh fish tacos and a beverage at the counter, wait at a table on the harbor-side deck overlooking the huge marina for 10 or 15 minutes, then chow down on the delicious food, and leave with change from the $10 bill with which you paid. You get to choose the... More

We went to Mitch's during our vacation with our grandkids in San Diego. I didn't think I would like the ordering method... stand in line... order.. pay... sit down and wait. But it was surprisingly fast. We had salmon, swordfish tacos and shrimp louie. The swordfish tacos were absolutely great. the other items were also really good. All of us... More

I travel to San Diego often and my go to meal during my long stays in this city is Mitch's grilled fish tacos. I swear that's what I think of when someone mentions San Diego.... sad I know! But I love them and I cannot get enough. My favorite is the swordfish, seabass, yellow tail, and grouper. Of course they... More

This is a laid back small resturant. We had a few items just to sample. We ordered the fried seafood platter, the fish stew and the clam chowder. We requested they replace the fish on the seafood platter with basically any other fish then "cod" (I think that's what it was), but they refused - even for a price. As... More

I made a point of checking this out after reading previous reviews. It was a little hard to find at first. It is a simple looking water-front place. It is very informal. I enjoyed sitting outside & watching folks boarding a fishing boat. I had their Limeaid & 2 Halibut Fish Tacos. The people were efficient & friendly. I would... More

This place was hopping from the moment we walked in, even the harbor police stopped by for a bite. Our meals were great!

“You have to try the fish tacos at Mitch’s Seafood,” my daughter said when we landed in San Diego. Located in a harbor on the water, we watched freshly caught fish being unloaded on the dock before we stood in line to place our order. Then we sat on the outdoor deck and munched on fish tacos and grilled sandwiches.... More

A good traditional breakfast at an order at the counter place. Efficient service and good coffee. The country style potatoes were very good. It was nice to sit outside with the harbor view. Only complaint was that the bacon while tasty was chewy. We'll be back for lunch or dinner to try the seafood.
