We arrived 5 mins before they opened so we were ready. The area is just off Balboa Park and there is plenty of street parking. This place should be a must on everyone's list of things to do in San Diego. Be prepared to wait and rest assured it is worth it. Food and staff are great and the place is just fun. We visited multiple times and tried lots of stuff. You can't finish any of it so we enjoyed the tasting. more

Packed on a Tuesday AM. Delicious food, though portions were immense. Consider sharing or plan on leftovers. Presentation of HH Eggs Benedict was beautiful. Little pricey for breakfast, but then again, hard to find this much high-quality food anywhere else. Hash House a good reason to skip the chain restaurants. Parking meters on 5th avenue, so bring some change. more

Another one of my favorite places to take newbies and visitors to San Diego. I love the location on 5th Ave. The portions are enormous and menu items are creative and beautifully crafted. YUMMY! more

Portions tend to be very large and that seems to be the major draw. Food is good, but some dishes can be confusing with number of ingredients. Can be very crowded with long waits. Go for a late breakfast and split a plate with someone else. more

My son took us to Hash House this past Monday (4-20-2009). Breakfast for 3 was $40. I don't really understand what all the hype is about. The plates looked like they were about 15 inches in diameter. This is the best breakfast in San Diego!!! It is worth the wait you probably will experience (20 minutes on a weekday morning at 9:00).
