Breakfast MUST!!!!

If you have an appetite as big a a college football player then these portions are for you! If you don't think you can handle that much food (don't feel bad, a watched a few players tap out early), this place is still for you. So much food that I only wished I could finish, it was a great... read more

Home cooking for sure. CAUTION...large portions. Good food, fair prices, HOWEVER, not a large place and can back up getting in. They do a good job of service and while they move people thru fast, you never feel rushed. Try their HASH....its the real deal

We're long-time SD residents. If someone comes into town & can do one meal, this is where we steer them. I don't know how Hash House isn't ranked higher in the SD eating establishments. IT'S PHENOMENAL! The portions are bigger than a small child but they're equally delicious as they are large. You'll be stuffed when you leave, but be... More

Fresh, fresh food in huge portions. Every entree is big enough for two or more. Bloody Mary was excellent. The pancake (yes you only get one) is almost the size of a hubcap. The bacon pancake has 4-5 bacon strips cooked into it. Sausage gravy was light and flavorful. The hot chocolate comes with 6 marshmallows in it (not mini,... More

Located in the trendy Hillcrest neighborhood on 5th, Hash House a Go-Go does not disappoint with a wide variety of fresh ingredients spread nicely across a large menu. Dinners enjoy complementary biscuits with honey butter, which in and of themselves are a meal. Entrees are massive and best shared. Try the meatloaf - it's not your mommas, but surely will... More

There is a looooonnnnggg wait, but WELL WORTH IT! If you don't want to wait, they do offer reservations on certain days only. You'll be BLOWN AWAY by the SIZE of the portions! Served in actual skillets and on serving platters. No joke!

We have been searching for a restaurant in the Midwest that is comparable to Hash House A Go-Go. We have made three visits to Hash House (go early on weekends) & it is the best money ever spent in San Diego! Biscuits & gravy, their jelly, pancakes, Bloody Marys, & more.

Be prepared to wait. Very busy restaurant with HUGE portions. I had the breakfast with hollendase. Sorry about the spelling. It wasn't authentic but it was excellent. Really good coffee. Full bar. Vegetarian options. Notice the outside coffee bar while you wait. Awesome friendly staff.

Brunch date with Hubby. We walked in without reservation. Waited for 10-20 minutes (not bad!) Very organized, great service, and very good food. A LITTLE pricey BUT GENEROUS portion! Overall, we satisfied and will be back soon!!

We've been many times and love this place. The wait can be dreadful (bring reading material) but the place never disappoints with its huge portions and great presentations. You'll never eat everything on your plate - even though you really want to!
