Excellent Service

I really liked the old fashioned service here. It was like stepping back in time. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but it was lovely. I felt very well looked after and quite chilled.

This is a great bar with terrific ambience of a bygone era. Unfortunately the drinks are a bit expensive so you do not want to have a whole night here. Another gripe of mine is there are no snacks served with the $18 vodka on the rocks. We did not stay for dinner so I cannot comment upon that or... More

We ate breakfast each day during our stay at The Grant Grill. The menu had everything from lighter fare to hearty breakfasts all with a California twist. Everything was well prepared, beautifully plated, and served with a smile.

Traditional American cuisine, particularly great steaks and beef dishes. In the heart of San Diego, near the historic Gaslamp area.

Very good quality food and comfortable setting that easily morphs from BK to Lunch to dinner/bar at night. Well located off hotel lobby and has a morning self serve coffee station for busier travelers or early risers.

I was disappointed in three days of consecutively visiting this restaurant and not able to gain the attention of the wait staff nor were they attentive. Seems like someone other than your server serves the meals and disappears. I could not obtain beverage service during a meal and the wait staff was inattentive.

Two couples had drinks in the bar and then dinner in the Grant Grill. It would be hard to find a more elegant and regal environment in downtown San Diego. The service is excellent. The food very good. The ambiance splendid. Don't miss the historical photos of the hotel. Valet parking is helpful.

I stayed in the hotel...it was a nice place to round out the evening for a nightcap. Also, the coffee was great in the morning. Nice and convenient.

The food changes daily and is well presented and well prepared. The menu is slightly limited, but there seemed to be something for everyone. Not a large quantity restaurant, and more high brow then comfort food, but the food is good.

Make reservations for a booth if you like cozy private dining. The service is professional without being stuffy. Ask you waiter for guidance in food selection since the menu changes often to reflect fresh produce, seafood, meats and vegetables. I had the grouper with a puree of celery and other vegetables. If this fish isn't done right it's rubbery. My grouper... More
