Amazing

The food and drink we're amazing. The service was exceptional. The history of the restaurant and hotel are rarely seen in the U.S.

Four of us went for Sunday brunch at the Grant Grill. It was a sit-down meal and not a buffet brunch. The options were varied, and everything we got was terrific, from the healthy meal (fruit & Greek yogurt) that one of our number ordered to the heartier, artery-clogging, delicious breakfast I got. :-) A terrific meal, and also a... We ate most breakfast at the hotel restaurant and several dinners. The food was correctly cooked and very tasty. The service was prompt and attentive.

Good wine, good staff, marginal food. Had a fish dish that was shockingly flavorful while, on the other side of the coin, I had high expectations for the pasta appetizer that was shockingly bland.

This was a nice place for a quiet drink, but I wouldn't suggest dinner. There were no choices for vegetarians and the dessert that I had was uninspired.

I really liked the old fashioned service here. It was like stepping back in time. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but it was lovely. I felt very well looked after and quite chilled.

This is a great bar with terrific ambience of a bygone era. Unfortunately the drinks are a bit expensive so you do not want to have a whole night here. Another gripe of mine is there are no snacks served with the $18 vodka on the rocks. We did not stay for dinner so I cannot comment upon that or... More

We ate breakfast each day during our stay at The Grant Grill. The menu had everything from lighter fare to hearty breakfasts all with a California twist. Everything was well prepared, beautifully plated, and served with a smile.

Traditional American cuisine, particularly great steaks and beef dishes. In the heart of San Diego, near the historic Gaslamp area.

Very good quality food and comfortable setting that easily morphs from BK to Lunch to dinner/bar at night. Well located off hotel lobby and has a morning self serve coffee station for busier travelers or early risers.
