We were staying at the hotel, so thought we'd try the Grill one evening. We were glad we did! It was fabulous. The service was amazingly attentive.

I had 3 meals in this restaurant - dinner, breakfast, and lunch. I had the charcuterie plate at dinner, and after a flight, it was exactly the right amount of food. At breakfast, I had the "power" breakfast which was healthy, tasty, and filling. Lunch was a salad - the chicken was tasteless, but the greens were fresh. I did... More

There were four of us for a business lunch, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The best part was the decor, it felt a bit like a throw back to a kinder gentler time, where people were not quite as rushed and could savour their food.

The food was delicious and our waitress was very pleasant and professional. There was live music that provided an elegant atmosphere and we enjoyed our dinner very much.

Of course it is a bit overpriced but a great location... The hookers that hang out in the lobby are a distraction but it is a down town hotel

This review is specifically for the Thanksgiving Buffet at the U.S. Grant. We were seated in The Grant Grill, and the buffet was absolutely amazing. We managed to try at least one bite of everything, and with the weird exception of the roast beef loin (I would have predicted that that would have been perfect, but it was tough), every... More

What a great meal! From the moment we were seated until we left we had a delightful experience. The decor in the restaurant is lovely, and tables are spaced far enough apart so that you are not overhearing other conversations. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. The lunch salads & sandwiches were tasty and filling- substitutions cheerfully made. Highly... More

We had breakfast 3 days in a row (staying at the Grant) and everything we ordered between the 3 of us was high quality and very substantial. Definitely try the breakfast potatoes - baked on sea salt and then flash fried twice!

I was at The US Grant over five days and had opportunity to eat at the Grant Grill for meetings that I had during breakfast lunch dinner and a late-night event. The waitstaff, regardless of time was outstanding and every option delivered to the table, regardless of the time of day was, perfect. For late night I would highly recommend... More

The UD Grant has a beautiful lobby. It is in the heart of the Gas Lamp district in San Diego so it is close to theaters, shopping and other attractions. We went there strictly for lunch before a play at the theatre. They said they were full and would accommodate us. Apparently if you weren't guests at the hotel, you... More
