We sat on the sidewalk for a lovely lunch. The food was imaginative and tasty, and the portions very generous. The sign said it was a "DDD" place, but it sure seemed a cut above!

We saw this place on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives and knew we had to try it on our recent visit to San Diego. Their menu is so extensive, if we had more time, we would have come back!! Our breakfast was just delicious. Service was great and will definately visit again.

EVERYTHING was amazing and I feel like the rating should be higher. Will be back in April for sure when in town. WE HAD YUCATAN TOSTADAS, FRENCH TOAST, AND HANGOVER OMELET. SO MANY OTHER ITEMS ON THE MENU I NEED TO TRY. FRIENDLY PLACE BUT TIGHT SEATING. Also have fresh squeezed juices. Tangerine was amazing. Please try this place out... More

Among the various restaurants in this Hillcrest neighborhood, Crest Cafe occupies a nice middle ground -- not too fancy or expensive but with a large menu selection starting with a lot of burgers, meatloafs, hotdogs, and pot pies but including Mexican roast beef, orange anchiote pulled pork, and such. We think the burgers are good. The affogato I had for... More

Have been here many times. It is not elegant, kind of claustrophobic, outdoor seating is minimal, BUT the food is terrific, the service is great, and you want to come back. There are several upscale breakfast places around the corner, which I've been to, but Crest is IT. It has a Mexican bent and the menu is huge, the portions... More

We went to Crest on recommendation of triple D on the Food Network. Service was initially slow, the hamburger suggested by Triple D was way to much food at a half pound so I ordered a basic burger medium well. It came well done and dry. The house made potato chips were not the greatest. I live in Phoenix not... More

Visited on a comfy, sunny day in November. Dog friendly and attracts a varied crowd from couples to families. Some outdoor seating but most inside. Make sure to sign in just inside the front door. Our table had their barbecue bacon burger, chicken pot pie, crème brulee French toast and their butterburger. The pot pie could have had a better... More

So, like everyone, I saw this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives so I had to go when I visited San Diego. It was actually my daughter's idea to keep the address on the fridge until we had a chance to go down. The "specialty" that they made on the show was the "Butter Burger". The other "specialty" they made... More

Visited on a Sunday evening after seeing it on Diners Dives DriveIns. We were seated immediately, our waiter was awesome the entire time and the food was to-die-for. Creme brule french toast topped with fresh strawberries...brilliant. I also tried the "Bubbie" - homemade pasta in a gorgonzola white sauce w/ ham, pear ans walnut that I will be craving over...
