So glad you guys decided to head over, too! Thanks for letting us know that all the varieties of the French Toast hit the spot. That's great feedback about the Chicken & Waffles' sauce, too -- we'll make sure that gets to the right place! Safe travels back to STL -- hope you'll think of us on a future trip,... More

Craziness burger around... butter burger! The brioche bun is perfectly golden. The homemade potato chips were perfectly crispy. Perfect after beach spot!

After seeing this restaurant on TV and hearing from friends how good the food is I had to try it. I ordered the Crest Butter burger, yes I did say butter! They stuff the patty with butter which made for a messy bun but delicious burger. The famous house made fresh chips , which the waiter said where fresh, were... More

Thanks for coming in after hearing the good word from some buds and catching us on TV! Good to hear that the Butter Burger hit the spot, but we wish the fresh chips had complemented it better -- they definitely should have been seasoned just right, so thanks for that feedback. Noticed you're in San Diego, so hopefully we'll be... More

We were visiting family in the area and our son told us about the Creme Brulee French Toast...I said, "I'm buyin'", so off for the perfect Sunday morning breakfast. Crest Cafe is very popular, but we were there just before 9:AM and beat the rush! Our server was attentive and gracious, the atmosphere fun, clean and inviting, and the food... More

A local friend took me here for breakfast as she rates it as one of the best in San Diego She was not wrong. It certainly did not disappoint! The service was fantastic, as was the food. The only thing is that you need to find street parking, which I imagine can be struggling during peak hours. I will return... More

Hi, Avril! Thanks for coming by with your friend (tell her we say hey!) while you were visiting San Diego. On the topic of parking, we actually validate it down the street if you swing by and grab a ticket beforehand -- hope you guys didn't have too much trouble. Looking forward to having you back next time you're in... More

In this little restaurant the food is king. The creme brûlée French toast was sweet. The spicy sausage was tasty and the omelette was good and plentiful. The service is ok. We didn't have to wait so it was a plus. The parking can be tricky but you can always park in the lot near by for a fee. All... More

Hi there! Glad to hear you enjoyed all the dishes you tried -- you definitely checked out a good range of tastes. Sorry to hear that the service could have been a little better, but it's good to have that feedback. Wish you'd known on this visit -- we actually validate parking down the street, so remember that for next... More

Crest Café, 425 Robinson Ave. San Diego, Ca (Hillcrest District) Jan 2015 We had lunch today at this quaint quasi diner-styled café. It was unusual in that it felt on one hand a typical diner we all know from the 50’s/60’s fame yet on the other hand not. One side of the L-shaped restaurant felt like a diner yet the... More

Hi, David. Thanks for coming in back in January after catching us on the show. Right off the bat, we wanted to let you know that your mention of the fact that Faustino is "part of the LGBT community" doesn't really sit well with us. The last thing we want is for you to feel that your service could be... More

This is a funky little non-pretentious restaurant in the Hillcrest area of San Diego, just off the 163. The inside of the restaurant is tiny and a little bit cramped, with a few outdoor tables available if you prefer. But the friendly vibe and absolutely terrific food more than outweigh the limited seating conditions. The food is served freshly prepared,... More
