Fabulous food and exceptional selection of tequilas

I had a most wonderful experience at this restaurant. It was dim lit so if you prefer a brighter atmosphere, this may not be for you. Every dish ordered at my table was prepared to perfection. We ordered shots of Mio Amore which is a delicious tequila, smooth with vanilla undertones. Fun place to... read more

this is the second time I have been to this restaurant and I want to remember it for my next trip to San Diego. up a quick flight of stairs you enter a restaurant with white table cloths. As you look around you see walls of tequila bottles - a veritable museum. I came for the chicken with the Rosa... More

Attended October 8, 2015 My wife and I ate here with another couple - we were visiting from Ontario Canada. I am conflicted about this review. The restaurant and service were good, but we didn't particularly enjoy the food. We had appetizer quesadillas, which were "ok" and then we had their Mexican specialty - Moles, 2 vegetarian, one pork and... More

Went for dinner with friends. It's a bit dimly lit inside. Good, friendly service. Food was tasty and portions good. Great fun looking at the collection of Tequilas - some with glass catus inside the bottle.

White tablecloths, elegant and discrete waiters, delicious Mexican food, properly sized servings, wonderful coffee. Thankfully, not a tourist-trap, of which we saw many in San Diego. A place to converse with friends or business associates, in a low-decibel atmosphere.

Excellent Mexican specialty food - NOT like the usual fare. The Moles are a treat. I ate there twice and the only reason I didn't dine there more often is that there were so many other places to eat. BUT -- I really think that for atmosphere and quality - this was top notch. And the service was excellent.

We visited El Agave on a Friday night. We made an advance reservation and had two children with us. They really pack you in! Once seated, it's a good thing I didn't need to get up to use the restroom because it would have been nearly impossible. They are known for their mole sauces so I chose the mole with... More

My husband and I ate there with my son who is in the navy along with his girl friend . This was by far my favorite Mexican food I have ever had. The 3 different sauces they brought out to you first were delicious along with the fresh chips and fresh rolls. My husband and son had the Oaxcan mole... More
