My husband and I visited the location in Mira Mesa (NOT the Gaslamp District) to celebrate his 65th and my 66th birthday recently. We had a great time...after nearly getting stuck in the elevator taking us to the 2nd floor where all diners are seated. The door just wouldn't close! Our waitress first gave us a tour of downstairs (kitchen,... More

We stumbled on to this eatery while looking for another. It turned out to be an excellent choice with lovely Italian decor, friendly reception and service, large portions, and tasty reasonalbly priced fare. Be aware that the food is served family-style meant to be shared from the bowl but one serving for two people will require a take-home bag. The... More

Food is OK, service is good, nothing special. Step above a Dennys/Carrows for me. You are hungry and are in the mood for pasta, this an OK choice. Pizza is OK too

It's nothing like I've ever been in before. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere was just great. The walls and ceiling were covered every inch with mostly 50s themed paintings and posters, accompanied by 50s Italian music. The staff were quite friendly. The service was a little slow, but the wait time was worth it. At first glance, we... More

My husband and I wanted to go to Buca today for lunch. We both enjoy the atmosphere and the great Italian music. Take the time when you are there to look at all the old photographs on the walls. If you eat something really special get the kitchen table. You get to see all the food they are making. We... More

This is a family owned restaurant that’s been around since the 40’s or 50’s at least. The interior is filled with all things Italian, pictures of Frank Sinatra, Mario Lanza, Marlon Brando, along with photos/paintings of various locations around Italy. Then there are the family pictures, the pictures of the restaurants history in San Diego. I went there for dinner... More

Everything was nice except the foods were bland. We ordered pasta, chicken and pork chops. The string beans were also old. They were hard to chew.

We entered at the front, like you do, then were taken through the kitchens, which was odd, but interesting. The whole restaurant is very 50s Italian, with music to match. Our waiter Levi was funny and interested in us - you get the impression it's not just going through the motions. The garlic bread was square deep pan style and... More
