Great breakfast

It's the patio in back that I love. Indoors is a bit dreary compared to the expansive patio, but the food is reasonable, the service is quick, and the ambiance is just right. The Red Sails has been here for ages, and the views of the marina were good, the interior is a bit dated but that adds to the charm Food reasonable priced but disappointing We ordered scallops , mine wrapped in bacon on a bed of rice, baked potato and garnish which was ok, my wife ordered the scallops in a... Enjoyed an excellent breakfast burrito here on Easter Sunday. Red Sails Inn is an old long established Shelter Island location with excellent, reasonably priced food. It is a very popular spot for breakfast with a large outdoor deck to enjoy on warm mornings, an extensive menu, and lots of mimosas and bloody Mary's!

This is a great place to come and have a drink but that is about all. The food is not up to par but the bar defiantly makes up for it. Being able to sit out on the patio over looking the boats and bay is also a great reason to visit.

Not very good. Right on the water but my order looked and tasted premade. Fried seafood was not fresh or good. Go across the street to the Brigantine.

Ate here New Years Day. It was the only place open. It was too cool to sit out on the patio which is the best part of this place. Inside seemed a little dark and dirty. The tables sticky. They serve large portions but the quality isn't there. My hash browns were greasy and undercooked, the toast is just dumb... More

Sitting outside on the patio, looking at the yachts, listening to the fountain, watching the seagulls, smelling the salt air, this is one of the best breakfast experiences in San Diego. The food is wonderful, the service is prompt, friendly and efficient. Great breakfast menu with many things to pick from no matter your tastes. We love Red Sails Inn... More

We have always loved going to the Red Sails Inn for breakfast the morning after a concert at Humphrey's. They have great food, good Bloody Mary's and a great view.

When all the tourist restaurants are full with waiting lines, stop here for a casual, sea-faring meal. You can almost miss the dark wooden structure so look carefully. The food is average with spurts of "better" and you are hanging out with the locals, boat owners, and some tourists. You go here for the atmosphere. a cold beer then hit... More
