Irish bar with non-irish music

Cozy little place that had a really cool looking interior. Staff was friendly, drinks were good. But the band selection and music in-between sets was really odd far an Irish place.

Strolling through the Gaslamp district. My wife and I are partial to Irish pubs. We stop at the Blarney stone and much to our surprise, the waitress is fresh from Ireland. So she chatted and joked with us for the better part of the day. We loved the experience and met a few great folks. It's all about the dash.

The beer was terrible: there was something wrong with the taps: flat, stale beer. The waitress was nice and felt bad. I ended up asking for a bottle on their beer menu, but they didn't have that in stock. In all, not what you expect from a decent PUB.

Saw the Guinness sign from across the street whilst looking for a bar to stop at so decided to pop in. Ended up staying for a few and chatting with the staff who were either legitimately Irish or very good actors. Good atmosphere in the pub with lots of sports screens and support for the local SD teams.

We had a late lunch at the Blarney Stone Pub last Monday. We found metered street parking around the corner. I ordered a couple Guinness drafts and a coke for my gf, and we both had a Blarney Stone Burger. Mine was medium rare with a side salad, and my gf's was medium well with french fries. I enjoyed my... We went there for St. Patrick's Day and had to have a green beer with a corned beef sandwich. Well, it wasn't like NYC where the Pubs gave you a pile high sandwich of corned beef. We were disappointed that we didn't get a lot of beef on our sandwich. It's a typical pub.

My wife and I sat down at 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon. We noticed some trash on the patio and tables that were not cleaned. There was one other party on the patio. We waited 15 minutes for a server while the host smoked 2 cigarettes 10 feet away from us. We left.

We didn't eat here but this review is based on their beer selection. Not a big selection but some interesting offerings. A couple different IPAs and other selections that I had never heard of. Worth a shot to try their beer. My wife said the house wine was very good as well. Sorry I cannot be of help for the... More
