Anthony's Fish Grotto's was established in 1946 by Mama Catherine Ghio. It set and continues to set the standard for fresh seafood dining in San Diego. Mama believed it letting the freshness show through and not using overwrought and fussy preparations. Fresh seafood simply prepared. The waterfront Anthony's sits atop piling over San Diego Bay. The views and sunsets are spectacular. The large dining room can accommodate families and large groups and the Lounge/bar area is perfect for that more intimate dining experience. The menu features an array of seasonal fresh catches along with a multitude of favorites from Fish n Chips to Lobster Tails. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options are available.

Nice place to have a good lunch on the water. The service is great. The food is good, I always get the salmon with veggies. My son loves the grilled cheese, gasp!

My family has a longstanding tradition of visiting Anthony's at the Harbor. My father took Navy basic in San Diego, and was introduced to Anthony's by Uncle Bob, who moved to El Cajon after WW II. My parent honey moved in San Diego, dad taking mom their in 1956! We took. "Griswold" trip to SD in the 70's, and four... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to send in your positive comments about Anthony's. We love our guests from Arizona as they really appreciate fresh seafood. I got a kick out of your comment regarding bringing your grandchildren, just last week I sent a picture of a 5 generation dinner at Anthony's (nice folks from Prescott, dining with... More

Thank you so much for stopping in. Our bar/lounge is a great spot to take a break from sightseeing and enjoy a beverage and an app. We have a great happy hour M-F 3:30 - 6:30 that is the best value on the waterfront. Regards. More

The view is nice but the restaurant is outdated and dirty. Food is alright but not worth the price. Staff is nice but probably wouldn't go back.

Flew into San Diego in am the pier near the airport was our first stop after getting the rental car. We decided on lunch here and were not disappointed. I am not a seafood eater but had a spectacular chicken ceasar salad and the rest of the group had various seafood lunch items and each one was great. This was... More

The food was wonderful with a beautiful view of the Bay. The prices were excellent for the meals we ordered. Had a drink before dinner and enjoyed a friendly bartender.

Two things lead us to going to Anthony's for diner: when we lived in San Diego, back in 1971, we did not think we could afford to eat at Anthony's on an enlisted man's salary and my daughter and I enjoyed a fish sandwich at Petco Park. We waited a few minutes for a table and were seated with a... More

I have been coming here for a long time and as usual had a wonderful meal! The clam chowder is the best and the fish and chips are great! Our server, Alfonso, was so nice and attentive. He informed us that there is an issue with the landlord of the building not wanting to renew Anthony's lease. We so hope... More

Large, scenic restaurant overlooking San Diego Bay. Waiter recommended an Australian fish called barramundi, wonderful tasting fish. I'm from Hawaii where we have a lot of fish and appreciate it.

Glad to read you enjoy dining at Anthony's and trying the Barramundi. We always try to feature a few unusual species for our guests to try. Over the last 70 years we were the first restaurant to introduce to San Diegans the following species: Sculpin, Corvina, Tutuava, Jon Dory, Sand Dabs, Shark, Squid Steak, Mahi-Mahi and many others. We've been... More
