My family has been eating here for 50 years and Not one visit were we disappointed!. But it is Best to be there either 10 minutes before they open or at least at 430pm for the evening meal. My reasoning is this place fills up fast and 2 hour waits are not uncommon. Call in Reservations were suspended back in... More

Had I realized just how huge Anthony’s Fish Grotto is I would have anticipated much less from my visit there. The restaurant is enormous, seeming almost like a warehouse on the water and as such it seemed to me and my companions, along with our taste buds that the food preparation must be geared to cooking for accommodate the masses.... Through the years, this place doesn't dissapoint. Been here before and will be back again. The food is awesome and the staff is attentive. With that said, this place deserves a remodel!!! I read somewhere that it's been in that location for over 60 years, well, it shows. It really needs to get updated/remodeled!!!

I was seated immediately in a booth of my choosing. Server was prompt and friendly. I started with fish chowder and they brought Tabasco without my asking which gives them serious extra credit! I had shore combo with asparagus and cole slaw. Good but not great. A little overpriced for food due to great location. Not much else to compete... More

I have been coming here since I was a child. In fact, when i was a little girl i dreamed of being a waitress here so that i could eat here every day. I still come here often. Their gulf shrimp cocktail is sooooo good. I also have the breaded fried shrimp with fries. Their desserts are pretty good too.... More

Ate at Anthonys for about the fourth time. The food was good. The service was good, and the view was spectacular. No complaints. It's not the finest seafood place in the world, but you will get in, get fed and get out, and enjoy the time there.

Anthony's Fish Grotto is a touristy seafood restaurant in San Diego on the waterfront. + Great location with large dining rooms and patio dining as well + Basic fried seafood, coleslaw, and fries. + Poplar with tourist and locals I would't call it a tourist trap as they really seem interested in making sure everyone enjoys themselves. Food is average,... More

I know this is one of the iconic San Diego restaraunts, but the night we went, it was noisy chaos. We couldn't carry on a conversation, the service was just fair, and the food was just average. I've been here before, so was looking forward to it, but I don't plan to go back - it's just not what it... More

Went there as had been recommended by friends who had been in San Diego three years ago - did not disappoint! We went there as a end of holiday treat. Good attentive (without overbearing) service, but the food was great! Would recommend the lobster tails (I had two!). Kids (7 and 11) really enjoyed their food as well. Terrific views... More

Overall my experience at Anthony's was a bit of a surprise. It is a very large restaurant obviously designed to accommodate the Sunday lunch crowd and the tourist crowd. Service was pretty good as they have a lot of wait staff. Views are very good if you can get a table by the large window. Food was ok but not... More
