We stayed in San Diego for one night and were told the bay was the best place to find good seafood... Anthony's was a shot in the dark and we were NOT disappointed. The lobster was perfect, the wine was delicious, and the dessert was amazing! We had a great time, didn't have to wait at all for our table.... more

We ate with friends here while visiting San Diego. I had a shrimp trio that was yummy. The bread and flavored butter was great and unlimited. Great for my carb daughter. My meal came with a baked potato and another side. The veggies weren't great, just ok. My husband's shrimp salad was pretty good, he said. The kids' meals were... more

This is the first time we have been back to Anthony's in about 5 years. It is obvious that this place is now living on it's reputation. The shrimp were old and had a clorox taste. The meal was nothing to rave about. The menu item that I ordered I had at Joe's Crab Shack in the Phoenix area, and... more

I am a frequent visitor to San Diego. Years ago, about ten, I would always make sure I went to Anthonys for a Combination Seafood Salad. Crab, shrimp, lobster, advocodo and shredded lettuce were mixed all together with their special Louie Sauce. It was devine!!! This past Easter I went and ordered my usual. It was terrible. They do not... more

This is a tourist type location close to the convention area. Food is in my opinion overpriced for what you get. Our fish was like a fast food location. We sat outside which was nice. Don't expect much from a service standpoint, because servcie is not one of their things. more

This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker and we have read a lot of rave reviews on this restaurant which were positive. What a disappointment -- starting with a thirty minute wait for our meal. The restaurant was half empty, but we were seated directly behind some sort retirement party for a police officer. After questioning and receiving the waitresses... more

I agree with some of the comments about the location being prime, between the maritime museum and the San Diego cruise ship terminal and a view of the bay. Other than that, i would prefer to have saved the money and have eaten at a better place. We ate inside at the sit down restaurant part, not the walkup fishette... more

We visited Anthony's Fish Grotto for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed the fresh seafood. We ate inside the restaurant with the nice view of the bay. I ordered the Bay combo which consisted of salmon, scampi shrimp and a crab cake. The crab cake was the best I ever had. The whole meal was very good .... more

One of my favorite seafood restaurants ever. They may not be the absolute highest end, but they offer a very good meal. The view on the bay is great! more

I would never eat an Anthony's restaurant because it is to expensive. But, ordering from the window and eating outside is a real treat. I was born and raised in San Diego and I can't think of a more relaxing place to have fish and chips and a beer. Keep in mind this place is next to the Star of... more
