Okay, but...

Thank you for your comments. Yes some of our dishes are Mama Ghios' original creations that have remained popular for 70 years. On your next visit I'd suggest trying some our our newer items such as: Ahi Stack, Mediterranean Quinoa salad with grilled shrimp, Beet and Goat cheese salad with roasted salmon, or Baquetta Portabello, Swordfish Mediterranean, Snapper Ranchero or... Dear Al, thanks for joining us for dinner. Glad you enjoyed the mussels, that a relatively new preparation for us. For 70 years they've always been done in garlic and white wine and now are available with the blue cheese that you enjoyed and Ranchero style, with jalapenos, cilantro and queso fresca. Who says you teach an old dog new... More

Two locations, one close to the USS Midway Museum, one in La Mesa. Always an excellent meal at reasonable prices. You can buy their tartar and cocktail sauces. Best ever for your home cooked meals.

Dear Mike: Thank you for the kind comments. My Grandmother developed the cocktail and tartar sauce nearly 80 years ago and we still follow those recipes to the T. Glad you mentioned our La Mesa location, it's a beautiful restaurant that sits on a small private lake. The highlights at La Mesa are the outside dining patios, pet friendly patio,... More

Loved all of the fresh fish and the clam chowder. Salads are great too. Their bartenders are the best!!!! Great drinks. Has a view of the waterfront and bay. Limited parking. Has an outside grill for casual walkups.

Being from the State of Washington where there are many fine seafood restaurants your compliments have special value. Our team works hard to provide our guests seafood that is perfectly prepared and unpretentious. Again thanks for the kudos especially from someone who knows seafood! More

This restaurant is located between the USS Midway and the Maritime Museum. One has wonderful views of the harbor. The service and food are excellent, and the prices are reasonable, My wife and I had the filet of sole, and it compared favorably with any restaurant I've patronized on the US East Coast and Europe. Moreover, one can order wine... More

So glad you hear you enjoyed dining at Anthony's. Fresh Petrale Sole is one the West Coasts finest fish. We try to keep simple, dusting of cracker crumbs, sauteed, brushed with a little lemon parsley butter. Our revised wine list offers great flexibility, bottle, carafe, or glass so you the guest can choose. Thanks! More

Recognized by Zagat and voted #1 Most popular! My husband and I decided to go find out why. We were very pleased with our dinning experience. We enjoyed a nice quiet dinner on a Thursday night. It was not to busy and the service was great. We loved the Clam Chowder, Steak, Shrimp, and of course, delicious bread. Now we... More

We used to come to Anthony's in my childhood for special occasions. Back in town for a business training across the street, an associate and I headed to Anthony's for lunch. She had the fish and chips and enjoyed them, and I indulged in the brochette, with scallops, shrimp and some sort of firm white fleshed fish along with various... More

Fish and Chips are always a favorite and it's always gratifying that someone comes back to Anthony's and can still get what enjoyed years ago and it's just as good. Glad you enjoyed the Seafood Kebob, it's one of our lighter entrees. By the way, that firm white fish on the kebob was $15.00 a pound fresh local Swordfish. As... More

My husband and I vowed to have seafood everyday during our trip down the PCH, and Anthony's Fish Grotto in San Diego was a wonderful addition to our seafood binge. Very typical in appearance to other wharf/harbor side eateries, we had a table next to panoramic views of San Diego bay. Food was very delicious and drinks were great too.... More

Sabrina - hoped you enjoyed the respite from the dreadful weather back home. Glad you enjoyed your visit to Anthony's as part of your "seafood adventure". Some we'll have a remodeled restaurant that matches our food and view. Hope you visit again on you're next "escape". More

We had a family dinner here and everything we had from fresh Mahi Mahi, shriimp, scampi and everything in between was really good. The atmosphere was very nice. The staff was very at tentative and helpful. There were 10 of us and all the food was good. We also had lunch there and thoroughly enjoyed some appetizers and clam chowder.... More
