This place is just awful. Not sure why there are so many positive reviews on here but if you look at locals who ate their on Yelp, you will get an accurate picture of how bad this place is.

Don't let the building, the decor or even the dusty plastic and silk plants deter you from dining here. Every dish we had great flavors. Service was just a little slow but there were only two servers working the floor. We were treated very well and we felt welcome. Change the dining room decor and it'll be a 5 instead... More

We had just arrived in San Diego. We found the restaurant easily right off the highway. We were a group of three adults and one child. We ordered arroz con pollo, mastitas de puerco among other delicacies. Food was freshly made, well seasoned (a lot of garlic and onions ++). The food makes up for the ambience.

While the restaurant is plainly furnished, the food is anything but plain. It is very good and offers a wide variety of Cuban and Puerto Rican dishes that are seasoned just right. The servings are good sized and the price is right. Next time I am in San Diego, I will definitely return.

We went to this place last year because we had a coupon... Much to our surprise this place was fantastic. The food was well prepared and had just the right spice I was looking for. We have been back--( without coupon) and it was just as good but a little pricey... Still worth a try if you like to add... More

I was thrilled to find foods from my homeland - Puerto Rico - including Alcapurrias (fritters filled with beef), ropa vieja (shredded beef stewed in sofrito - and not too tomato-y as often is the case) and lechon (well-seasoned pork)...and rice made with Achiote! We were there after the lunch sales were done, but the prices were reasonable and the... More

My niece and I were trying to find a restaurant for lunch close to downtown San Diego where she works, but without the parking problems. We both came up with Andre's Cuban Restaurant just off the Sea World exit on the I-5. We both ordered a chicken sandwich which was huge, delicious, and very different for $8. I took home... More
