Description: In the 1900's, the Golden Lion Tavern drew people to the Gaslamp Quarter for fun and frivolity, and history hasn't changed much! Here it is less than a century later, and that same location has become a Hard Rock Cafe. The Cafe's cozy confines will wash all that local culture out of your head in no time, allowing you to fill it with important rock 'n' roll history and trivia. Ask about a Memorabilia tour!!!

I went to a few Hard Rocks around the world and they all look the same. Same food, same memorabilia, same everything. I thought they would change and adapt the local culture to it's restaurantes. Anyway, if you manage to get a table, you can have great fun with your friends. Very american style, so do not expect great food... More

For the past 17 years we have visited many Hard Rock Cafe's on 3 continents. The San Diego experience was the worst we have ever experienced. Our server was trying to cope with too many customers and it showed. After choosing our meal we waited so long for the food to arrive. When it did, my burger was stone cold!!... More

Great service but adequate food. Good range of local beers available. It was not busy but we did book ahead.

Just another Hard Rock Cafe, nothing special here. If you have eaten at one you know the drill, ok food, just below average service and lots of kool Music memorabilia. They do offer a large number of San Diego's craft beers here.

We have visited many HRC's around the world and this was by far the worst. No cutlery, main course delivered during starter. Pulled pork, meat was cold and very dry, we both ended up leaving most of it. Very disappointed!! waiter just not interested unlike the normal service usually found in the US.

We were seated quickly despite the crowded streets. We love this nostalgic place, my husband and I both have fond memories of eating at the "cool" hard rock when we were young. It still has that rebel vibe, the music is nice and loud (which kids might not like) but the food is still nachos, burgers, huge sodas, kid friendly... More

What a disaster. We ordered orange juice for the kids, they were brought pineapple juice. The children's burgers were gritty, hard to chew. We asked for chicken fingers instead, and they brought out hot dogs! Replaced the chicken on the cobb salad with shrimp, which was stringy, not well prepared. Steak was tough not tender. With all the restaurant choices... More

In the Gaslamp section of the city. My first thoughts when entering were "looks a little dirty". The bar counter (where I chose to sit and watch the World Cup football) was extremely sticky/tacky. I did comment to the bar staff about this fact and the young lady was quick to attend to this matter, but not comment from the... More

My Mom and I stayed at The Westin so Hard Rock was a short walk from the hotel. We had dinner here and shopped for t-shirts. Our waiter, Mark, was professional and courteous.
