We came for my 21st birthday and had an incredibly memorable experience. Our chef, David, was nothing less than amazing. He kept us interacted and truly a joy to watch. He is a great asset to this restaurant and made my birthday a great one! Michiko our server was also really great and attentive!!! Definitely recommend this to all my... More

My family and I have been going to Benihana's in San Diego since I was a child. We do our birthday celebrations there and have always used and appreciated the birthday coupon for $30 off our dinner. A few years ago they changed it so that it could only be used M-TH for dinner, which made it really hard for... More

Our 6 year old daughter thought the show was 'astonishing!' pacman made of rice, what more could you ask for!? Luis was a great chef. we really enjoyed the show and food. The japanese style sangria(plum) was delicious. had the lobster, steak, shrimp, so yum. sushi for starters was great.

So Sad to see my "Go To" place change to major changes and not good!! Side note, El Torito next store closed like a ghost town there now?? I was the GM at that El Toritos back in the day. I remember Benihana's being built and was invited to attended a private guest only opening with the owner "Rocky" Very... More

The hibachi chef (Max) was skilled and entertaining, willing to answer questions. We were a party of eight with a reservation. One of the party was late, and they recommended that we all wait for the last person before being seated. They did not complain that one of us was late. Another of the party has gluten sensitivity and Max... More

We enjoyed our experience very much. My 8 year old loved the chef's jokes and that they helped celebrate her birthday. Hibachi and rest of the meal were awesome, especially the fried rice. Despite having the first reservation time, it took 20 minutes or so after we were seated for the chef to arrive and start cooking. It took an... More

I have been dining at Benihana Restaurants for twenty years. I have had some good experiences, some average, and a few disasters ...but still enjoy experiencing birthdays and special occasions there. Our chef, this time, was excellent..not only in chef skills, but with a personality that was engaging and amusing. Service was attentive and responsive. Dinner for 2 with sashimi... More

We go here at least once every time we are in town. The kids love having the chief do all the food tricks in front of them and I love the food.

Shoguns in Clairemont Mesa is good and better for your money before 3 for lunch prices but Benihanas has the best quality of food it actually comes down to the fried rice if Shoguns could just use the same rice as Benihanas they would be equal. The only real complaint is after they remodeled they tightened the seating arrangement

We went to Benihana's restaurant in Mission Valley of San Diego to celebrate my wife and Daughter's Birthdays. We had a great time ! The food prepared by chef Angel live at your table grill was awesome. From Fried Rice, to Lobster, Angel cooked everything to perfection. Angel also put on a great comedy show while he was cooking.
