Hidden Gem lost amongst a quiet business park in Grantville. From the outside, it looks like a drab 70's era warehouse, but the gem is revealed as you step inside. This place is spacious with big picnic sized tables centering the dining room and smaller two-and four-seater tables aligning the Hawaiiana decorated walls. The bar is handcrafted and has dozens of local, Hawaiian, and imported craft beers. A foosball table is to the left of a small stage area where they have live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. The two big screen TVs are usually on sports or something funky while kick-back tunes play in the background.

Do you miss Hawaii?

Wonderful food, very long beer list, excellent staff. My Mom, husband and I went in for lunch. We were greeted and seated very politely. Service was very quick but NOT hurried. We got individual attention. The waitress made several suggestions at our request. She was very knowledgeable about... read more

Had 4 of the plates for takeout plus some sides. Food was OK....just not something I would do again. The medium rare hamburger covered in fried egg and over rice with gravy was just odd. The grilled beef flank ribs were good. Beans were good. Just so much gravy with everything. Glad we tried it but not something I would... More

Huli Huli Chicken and Kalua pork is very good. Extensive beer list includes craft beers. Good spot for a casual dinner with the family.

This is the best hawaiian plate linch spot in san diego. I'm from Hawaii so I need my loco moco fix every now and then. I've tried all the Hawaiian spots in san diego and Chris's is the best. The loco moco is made with freshly grilled ground beef patties not the frozen preformed burger patties. The mac salad is... More

We've returned here many times since our first visit and thought I'd update my review. This is still a good choice for lunch or dinner. They've taken a couple items off the menu lately, but it's largely the same and the food is still quite good. After our initial visit, I was surprised to see reviews reporting small portion sizes,... First of all, this place is located in what looked to us like an industrial commercial zone. Second, price was outrageous for what we got! We started off with 1(one plate) of Ahi Poke. Serving consisted of @ 1/4 cup of Ahi Poke and triple the amount of veggies, all for $11.99!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!! Wife(Haole) and I(local boy) both ordered a... More

Finally had a chance to try this place out last Weekend - talk about impressed! We expected this to be a more basic, order-at-the-counter type of place, but it's a very comfortable sit-down restaurant with table service. Not fancy, but nicely decorated & clean, with Hawaiian artwork, nice wooden tables, etc. Very pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. The service was very good... More

My wife and I had lunch today at this great find. I am always looking for a traditional Hawaiian plate lunch with Kalua Pork, 2 scoop rice and 1 scoop macaroni salad. My wife wanted something more salad oriented. I ordered my favorite and my wife ordered the mixed green salad with seared ahi. However, the waitress recommended the special... More

You have to use your GPS to find this place. Huli chicken, Kalua Pork, Poke and all other hawaiian favorites are here.
