We found this bar/restaurant just wandering around downtown San Diego after a Padres game. Many pluses at this establishment. Wide selection of beers on tap. Good range of spirits. Tried the tri-tip and the ribs. Both tender and juicy. Very pleasant staff. Highly recommended!

We found this great little bar after a Padres game. We were greeted as soon as we sat at the bar. We were just going in for drinks and then noticed the menu. The bartender suggested the tri-tip. This was excellent. Very tender and juicy and more than enough for the 4 of us. Then we decided to try the... More

The best ribs in San Diego...they truly were fall off the bone. Value for money can't be beat. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Looking for a place to eat in downtown San Diego .especially on a budget.. then there was a man flipping a sign pointing to Nathan's Smokehouse I had the pulled pork with slaw on top it was good and tender. The food was served fast and tasted good. You probably are not going to San Diego for BBQ but if you have the urge, I would try Nathans.

First of all, all the indoor seating was filled, so we had to eat outside. This is usually fine, but the outside seating was similar to that of a mid-west church ice cream social. The chairs were rickety, the tables dirty, and the ambiance non-existent. A kid no older than 13 served us our sub-par bbq pulled pork sandwiches and... More

I stumbled across this place walking from my hotel. I saw smokehouse and had to try it. I am sort of a bbq snob and have been painstakingly smoking my own meats for well over 15 years. I decided to try the pulled pork platter. It was ok but tasted off to me. I am not sure why but it... More

Stopped by on a whim while in town for a conference. Ordered the BBQ beef ribs, which were well smoked and moist with very little fat. Service was good: attentive but not intrusive. Their prices were reasonable for the Gaslight area, and they had just opened a fresh keg of Guinness. What could be better?

Nathan's was our first meal in SD. The barbeque really had a great smoke to it and was tender and juicy. A good selection of beers. Good prices - especially for the Gaslamp. Will be back!
