Fig Tree Cafe first opened in Pacific Beach in 2008 and has now opened its second location in the heart of Hillcrest. Our menu changes with the seasons as we use in-season, locally grown products. Our PB location was voted best Brunch in San Diego 2010 and we"re excited to bring this award winning cuisine to Hillcrest. Our dinner menu features items such as Short Ribs, Fig and Prosciutto Pizza, Lobster Ravioli, rosemary, thyme and lemon marinated Jidori Chicken, along with a moderately priced, eclectic wine list. We take great pride in our friendly, inviting and unpretentious style of service.

Great Breakfast, So-So Dinner

They had a good breakfast menu. The food was good, the wait staff was pleasant and helpful. I was a little disappointed in the dinner menu. What I had was good, but the menu was limited and a little on the foo-foo side for my taste.

We ate here before we hit the road for our drive back to SF. I loved the service here and had to share with fellow Trip Advisor members. My son has a lot of food allergies and loved the gluten free and vegan options on the menu. I recommend this place.

We really enjoyed brunch at the Fig Tree Café on a weekend trip to San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood. It has an excellent selection of breakfast/lunch options to choose from - I had the "eggwich" which was an awesome breakfast sandwich on a brioche bread with fried eggs, mozz cheese and bacon. The side potatoes were some of the best I... More

Wonderful little restaurant serving organic, local fare. We loved the beet salad and pizza. Patio seating was comfortable and relaxed.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now...though, to be fair, the location I've had in mind is the one in Liberty Station. Still, a Fig Tree Cafe is a Fig Tree Cafe, right? We were in the area with the beagles in tow one sunny Saturday morning, and decided to see which place had the shortest... More

I came to the Fig Tree with some friends for Sunday brunch around 11:00 am. No reservations are accepted so you put your name on a list and wait for a table – which was fine. We waited 45 minutes – which was also fine considering it was a beautiful Sunday morning. We saw our server three times during our... More

Great coffee, delicious food and welcoming, friendly staff. My bacon was cooked perfectly (not too crispy, which seems to be the preference here in the States), the house potatoes were tasty and the lattes were foamy and well made. Went back the next day for more coffee and some coffee cake. A great cafe.

This location is small, but the brunch was fabulous! I love the urban location and decor. We will be back .

This is the first restaurant we went to in Hillcrest and were most impressed by the interior of the restaurant. We had a small wait and they brought us water while we waited which was a nice gesture. Our waiter answered our questions about the menu and we felt that we were well looked after. I had the fish taco... More

Also, shared a kale-Apple-pecan salad, as an app. Very tasty, with citrus vinaigrette-- loved this, too! Our server was v kind and helpful. Helped us with menu selections, including wine.
