Description: Fig Tree Cafe first opened in Pacific Beach in 2008 and has now opened its second location in the heart of Hillcrest. Our menu changes with the seasons as we use in-season, locally grown products. Our PB location was voted best Brunch in San Diego 2010 and we"re excited to bring this award winning cuisine to Hillcrest. Our dinner menu features items such as Short Ribs, Fig and Prosciutto Pizza, Lobster Ravioli, rosemary, thyme and lemon marinated Jidori Chicken, along with a moderately priced, eclectic wine list. We take great pride in our friendly, inviting and unpretentious style of service.

I love Fig Tree Cafe! I normally go to the one in PB but ended up coming here bc it was closer to me at the time. The food was just as good as what I get in PB. We got the meatloaf hash and the stuffed french toast which were just all to die for! Love the free coffee... More

Recently visited SD and decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews. Let me tell you this is a great place to have breakfast, portions are big enough to share with your little ones. Absolutely recommend you try!

This is one of the best places I have ever eaten in. We had breakfast and it was way ahead of anything we had on our 19 day trip to California. The freshest orange juice ever, perfect eggs Benedict and pancakes from another world. A absolute must if you are in San Diego..........

Found the Fig Tree while taking a walk around historic liberty station. Inside and outside seating both relaxed atomosphere. Great place to sit and talk without pressure to get a move on. Menu is streamlined, but everything looked great. I ended up eating breakfast there two days in a row. Great morning value with the $5 breakfast special that changes... More

We had the most amazing dinner at the Hillcrest location recently! The food was fantastic and our server was awesome! Our apps were the Crispy Eggplant and Homemade Meatballs-- both were fantastic! The eggplant was fried, but not greasy, served with goat cheese & arugula with a lovely balsamic glaze. The meatballs were also very good and served in a... More

We visited this for the second time on New Year's Day for brunch. What a hopping place! The wait was about 30 minutes so we went to #1 Fifth to get our morning drinks (coffee, mimosas, bloody mary). When our beeper called us back, we were seated comfortably. Service was excellent, with a smile and recommendations. The French toast sampler... More

I went here for brunch recently; simple Huevos Rancheros. Bland, eggs were undercooked despite asking for them for them well done; TERRIBLE service (once the food arrived no one came near me for over 25 minutes)...long after I had finished I waited and waited and waited to ask for a check - eventually I stod up to leave and intercepted... I am a professional cook and when I train staffers, I always state unequivocally that food should have flavor. I don't like making omelets and don't often order them. The omelet I ordered was delicious and the roasted potatoes were delicious (simple food well done!). Fresh herbs can make a meal -- loved the rosemary. We were five total dining... More

My wife and I just wondered in to the Fig Tree Cafe for dinner on a recent visit to San Diego. We were in the Hillcrest district of San Diego walking around, and realized it was time for dinner. we walked in to a cozy little place called The Fig Cafe, and proceeded to have a delightful dinner. The food... More
