Description: Fig Tree Cafe first opened in Pacific Beach in 2008 and has now opened its second location in the heart of Hillcrest. Our menu changes with the seasons as we use in-season, locally grown products. Our PB location was voted best Brunch in San Diego 2010 and we"re excited to bring this award winning cuisine to Hillcrest. Our dinner menu features items such as Short Ribs, Fig and Prosciutto Pizza, Lobster Ravioli, rosemary, thyme and lemon marinated Jidori Chicken, along with a moderately priced, eclectic wine list. We take great pride in our friendly, inviting and unpretentious style of service.

We stopped here and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was exceptional and so was the wait staff, The wine list was fantastic and they had reasonably priced options. We had appetizers and pizza and everything we had was really good; by far the best was the 'jars'. I definitely view this as a must do in the Hillcrest area.

My husband and I found this little spot online, and we were not disappointed. He ordered an omelet and I ordered french toast. I can't describe how good the French Toast with an orange infused syrup was. I'm definitely going to try to revisit this place.

Visited on New Years Eve, so only tasted the special menu of the night. The roasted chicken with potatoes and garlic spinach was to die for! Had a great salad to start, yum. Sat in comfy banquette against the wall, but my companions said the chairs were also comfy. Service polite and unobtrusive. The place filled up very fast. My... More

Went for breakfast 26 Dec. Looked interesting from the street. Not busy as it was early so handed menus and told to select own own table. Seating is inside and street side patio. Service was fast and courteous. Coffee is decent and mugs topped up regularly. Ordered the Stuffed French Toast (strawberries, mangos and mascarpone cheese) served with syrup. The... More

Just happened to walk by when the last two restaurants were closed on a Monday afternoon. This is a small friendly place that had a killer veggie black bean burger. We split it and the people here were very accommodating. The staff were very friendly and personable to us. It also helps that the food is a good value and... More

This was my first visit here. It was suggested by friends, reviews were great and I was very happy to have an enjoyable experience. Service was good, restaurant was pretty noisy but the food was excellent. I tried the stuffed french toast with strawberries and mango and a few bites of the lobster/crab eggs benedict. Everything was excellent, super fresh... More

I was here with two friends for dinner and we ask thought our food and the service was fantastic. I had an on fish special with lobster sauce that was absolutely amazing. The flatbread with figs on it was also really good. I'll be back again next time I'm in San Diego!

Not only is the food here scrumptious, the entire menu can be made gluten free which is such a treat for those of us who can't ingest gluten. I HIGHLY recommend the French toast with the Marscapone cheese. Ridiculously good! The Service is also fantastic, can't wait to return...

There were a few brunch spots in Hillcrest with long waits for a table on Labor Day. This had no line and were we ever pleasantly surprised! Though it was busy, service was prompt and the food was outstanding. Big portions and quite fresh. Best potatoes ever. Minor complaint, the air conditioning is a little weak. No need to wait...
