Dole Whip is the bomb!!!

First let me tell you that this is across the colleges. Second the place is very casual and very tiny. So there might be a wait especially lunch time. Okay now the food. We ordered Portuguese sausage and eggs average, loco moco good but not fantastic. Malasadas too oily but of course its deep fried... read more

Finally!! ONO, AUTHENTIC local food from home!! Meat Jhun and Spicy poke plate are KILLER!! Smart move on a small menu, reasonable prices and generous servings. Look out, L & L's and Kahuna's time to STEP UP your game!

This is one of my husband and I's favorite place to eat! The hawaiian teriyaki chicken plate is to die for!! Also, love the homemade lemonade, it doesn't matter, all flavors are so delicious!

Finally got a chance to try this place out last Saturday. We were there right a lunch time and we did expect it to be very busy. We didn't expect it to be complete chaos. Very small place, with only one employee working up front when we arrived We waited in line, then waited quite a while more once we... More

The Kalbi is a must try! Enjoyed an excellent lunch with lava chicken combo, rice and macaroni salad. Casual and friendly.

This little hole in the wall place has some pretty good food. Kalbi ribs were tasty, my son had the loco moco which he liked. I think anything with gravy is good, I tried his hamgurger patty that was served with the loco moco and it was good. Potato salad which you can have as a choice side, I would... More

I planned a family reunion for 52 people and found this restaurant online. I live in Oregon and was nervous about finding caterers in California that would have great food, in good quantities at reasonable prices. This place was great! Mo spoke with me multiple times about the order and always reassured me they would have it ready on time... More

We lived on Oahu for ten years... and have visited many, many times since.... so we are always looking for good local food. Last weekend we were in San Diego for a family reunion and one of our stops was at Homestyle Hawaiian. I should have realized from the outside... that the inside wouldn't be so good. The door was... I've eaten at Homestyle Hawaiian five times and am on their frequent dining email list so I can get coupons for their lemonades. However, I think the way they treat customers and how they run their business is selfish, rude, and downright customer unfriendly. When they're actually open, try their lemonades, chicken dishes, and mac salad. Stay clear from the... More

During one of our visits to Oahu, we discovered a local dish called poke (pohkay). It is a simple raw tuna salad. Anytime I travel near the ocean, I'm always looking for a restaurant that servers poke. On my latest trip to San Diego, I found Homestyle Hawaiian. There poke is really good, but the rest of their menu is... More
