Food was excellent!

I was visiting San Diego and my friends took me to Terra American Bistro....this restaurant is in La Mesa I believe and there aren't many nice restaurants around that area. I was pleasantly surprised just how wonderful the farm to table food really was! Started with a very nice wedge salad and... read more

Been here many times and quality was good. In the last year there appears to have been a change of management and things have gone down hill. Higher prices and smaller portions. But Mother's Day was the worst. They took their basic menu added an appetizer of fruit and yogurt and a small dessert of stale bread and yogurt and... More

We started out with cheese tray which was 2 different cheeses, roasted pecans, jam, and bread. One cheese was too sweet for my taste. I ordered the tuna fish and my husband got lobster mac and cheese. Unfortunately the tuna was overcooked and no longer tender and pink inside. I was hoping for pan seared and still cold and raw... We ate here on Valentines evening and left satisfied and intrigued. There was a pre fix menu because of the occasion but salads were generous, entrees were done perfectly and desserts (peanut butter and jelly s'mores and chocolate covered strawberries) were creative and just the right size. They also has a nice craft beer and wine menu. Prices were moderate... More

I had not been to Terra ever since Jeff had moved from Hillcrest. We went during restaurant week last night. I had the best lobster mac and cheese on the planet. Everything was just perfect from the time we walked in till we left completely full. Outstanding service coupled with great food can't be beat.

We had a very nice meal a few days ago at this Bistro. I don't care for the completely open dining space but it was comfortable and the food was delicious!

This place was in San Diego for a long time and moved to La Mesa. The food is excellent as evident on a Tuesday night at 6PM the place was packed. We sat at the bar and had dinner. The stuffed pork chop was fantastic as was the ceasar salad I had to start. My friend had the fish stew... More

fresh, farm to table cuisine, atmosphere a little noisy, seating a little crowded, but you won't notice any of that once the food arrives. We have been to lunch, dinner and brunch and will keep going back, never disappointed.

We ate here with our "gluten free" friends on the recommendation of another friend. The interior is done in warm colors with thoughtful lighting. You'd think you stepped into one of those tucked away neighborhood eateries in San Francisco. The gluten free bread was excellent, we liked it better than the regular. We shared the Baked Brie, cranberry and pecan... More
