Great little restaurant

In the mood for French fare while visiting San Diego, we happened on this neighborhood gem. Our lucky day! My husband and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, after we read reviews on Yelp & Trip Advisor. We are both big fans of French bistro food. Unfortunately, we were disappointed and not really impressed by the food - I ordered the onion soup, which is typically a favorite of mine,... More

We love Au a Revoir and have never been disappointed! Mussels and lavender fries, duck, pork, cheeses, chocolate mousse, wines - whatever we order, no matter the time, it's amazing food!

We stood for a few minutes waiting to be greeted. I looked over the menu. The waiter geabbed it out if my hand. Extremely rude. It's a Sunday, all restaurants are prepared for the lunch rush. I haven't had French cuisine in a while. Unfortunately after receiving a table and never offered any drinks. We sat over ten minutes waiting... More

We ate at La Vaca, that was in this same space, many times when we lived in San Diego from 2002 to 2005. Always good, occasionally brilliant. Back in town for a visit, we decided to try Au Revoir for a large lunch. Greeted nicely. Seated outside (small space, but nice). Excellent mixed pate plate to start. Spinach salad as... More

We visited this restaurant on a whim after driving around Hillcrest looking for a bite. The menu looked appealing so we decided to give it a try. We started with escargot and it was lovely, although the puff pastry was a bit overdone. I had the croque Madame and it was decent. My friend had pistachio crusted halibut with asparagus... More

Nate and I had dinner Saturday night at Au Revoir Bistro. Thank you Salon Antoine for the recommendation. We both agreed that it was the best meal we have had since we have been hear in San Diego. We started with the duck confit foie gras, then we both had the SAUMON ET ST JACQUES Seared atlantic salmon, diver sea... More

Went with another couple yesterday. We all loved this restaurant. Excellent food. Excellent wine and beef. Excellent service. Can't ask for more than that. We tried an appetizer on the daily specials list - frois gras - and a French cheese board. For dinner we tried traditional dishes such as coq au vin and coquettes de lapin ( rabbit). Also... More
