I had a very disappointing lunch there today. I ordered the shrimp Po'boy with a small bowl of red beans and rice. The red beans and rice were great. Too bad I can't say that of the Po'boy. I thought I was getting a Po'boy like the ones I've had in New Orleans. You know the type, full of shrimp,... More

My family and I visited Bud's during a vacation in San Diego. The food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. My husband is a Louisiana native so we know true Cajun/Creole food. The beignets were delicious though. Some of the best I've ever eaten.

Called ahead for seating, and was told to come in for no wait on a Wednesday evening. Fast & courteous service. Food was great, and substituted bisque for the fries with my fried shrimp dinner. Big portion (half of the shrimp will be my lunch tomorrow) and lightly crusted & fried. Tasty & light vs heavy batter. Remoulade was great... More

Years ago when this was a tiny place in the downtown area we used to eat at Bud's, then 5 years ago or so they moved to larger digs in an office park far from the downtown area. We finally made it back and couldn't think why it took so long because the food is even better and the offerings... More

A friend of mine suggested we go here as part of a San Diego trip. We took his advise and met him for what was a surprisingly good meal. When you pull up, the place looks non-descript like any other Industrial park. Once you step inside, you see they have a patio and ample seating. As busy as the place... More

Wow! This place comes pretty darn close to food from NOLA. Since NOLA makes you come back for the food, I loved the Soft Shell Crab there that I had to try it here too. I must say when the food was set down in front of me I was a little disappointed because the crab looked small. But man... More

Have eaten at Bud's many times. First Review. Authentic Cajun food, not the best atmosphere, but the food certainly makes up for it. Try the Alligator appetizer, catfish, Oysters, Short Ribs, to top it all off the BREAD PUDDING.

I have not been to the new location but the food at the old location was very good - especially the seafood bisque. Service was a little slow but the place was crowded.

There is only 2 places worth their salt for New Orleans food in San Diego and this is one of them. Small, inside or outside eating. It's in a funky industrial area so outside you don’t get the flavor as much as inside. It has all your classics, crawfish, shrimp and alligator sausages, Jambalaya, po boy, I had the best... More
