The food was very good and served well, especially for the 16 guests. The menu selections were good, but we ended up ordering too many appetizers. They were larger than expected.

Wandered in looking for a light bite and a drink. Big Brian the bartender is true professional. Great atmosphere and views.

We came here on the way to the Point Loma Lighthouse - the views of the city were awesome and food was pretty good. The famous Mai Tai was awful - lose 2 stars bad. I am a drinker - I always love to get the really strong drinks - a good long island or the Irish wake in destin... More

The best way to visit the Bali Hai is by boat. Tie up to the dock, scamper up the ramp and duck into the bar for snacks and a Mai Tai that will leave you legless. The crowd is eclectic, and the view across the bay to downtown San Diego is truly wonderful.

This out of the way restaurant on Shelter Island is a favorite. The food is good enough to eat there anytime, but the sunset dining is the best. Perfect view of downtown and the bay. Service is very efficient even if not very warm. I try to eat there once on every trip.

That arrived 5 minutes after... More

Bali Hai has a great view of San Diego and The San DIego Bay. Good Friendly staff and very good food. We both had the sword fish that was excellent, can't say the same for the Forbidden Rice Black Pepper Sauce that came with the Swordfish (Nasty). Go for the Great View, Good Food and the Unbelievable Mai Tai's Very... More

The food is fine, the service acceptable but no more but the reason you here is for the view over the water to see the whole of downtown San Diego shown in all it's glory. You HAVE to get the window seats with the view or you should consider somewhere else.

We went to get some drinks before a group of friends and I went out. The zombie and the mai tai both had warning labels because they were so strong and we thought this was great and of course had to order them. They were awesome! We will be back soon.
