We dined on a Wednesday evening in November, when the restaurant was not crowded (although there was live music going). It being San Diego, we sat outside on the patio -- a very nice area with heaters and nice views of San Diego. We started with the Ali'i platter, which is a sampler of appetizers: Hawaiian tuna poke, coconut shrimp,... More

Had the turkey club and the salmon and a harpoon and mojito. Prices were a little high, but not unreasonable and the service was good. The best part of the Bali Hai is the view of the city. Go for sunset and watch boats come in and out. Drinks were tolerable and fairly priced, but nothing special or exciting. Total... More

I enjoyed dinner at Bali Hai last night for my birthday with my fiance, and had the most wonderful time. I had high expectations after reading so many great reviews, and all of my expectations were met. The sides are big enough to share, but we are glad we got two anyways because it made for amazing leftovers. The venue... More

Excellent views and the cocktails are amazing! Our kids love the decor and it sets the tone from the minute you spot the outside.

We started off with drinks in the bar and they were great. Nicely priced too! Dinner we were seated at a window table - the view and overall atmosphere was really relaxed and nice. Wide variety of food selections, but the steep priced menu items come alone; sides are extra. The flavor was spot on, so we would go back...... More

The view of the San Diego Bay and and the city skyline from Bali Hai are just absolutely spectacular no wonder why this place is such a popular wedding venue. I really take this city for granted after living here for so many years and while dining here for brunch I sat down and said to myself....San Diego is BEAUTIFUL!... More

This is a high end restaurant with very good food overlooking the water and the San Diego skyline. We were there after dark and the lights of the city and the boats traveling by the floor to ceiling windows made for a beautiful sight. Food was delicious - the waiter made excellent suggestions.

Last ate here more than 55 years ago. Tonight we had sweet and sour chicken and shrinp and mahi stir fry. Both were excellent The service was excellent as well. The view is worth paying for. We arrived about sunset and watched the view change to San Diego by night.

The views of the San Diego Harbor are excellent, especially at night! Great place to bring visitors. We had the pan seared Halibut which was good enough, but just a little dry and the 14 oz Rib Eye which was cooked right and had good flavor. My favorite though was the side dish of Fried Rice, I don't know what... More

Everything else, except the main entre I selected was wonderful. The view is unsurpassed, the salad scrumptious, bread well worth the calories, the dessert (strawberry cake) was sublime and the service was excellent. Which is why the entre was a mystery. Greasy, and very little except greasy noodles. Such a disappointment, except that I was full enough with everything else.... More
