We had a company buffet dinner at this restaurant and the food was delicious. What I didn't like the smell of the lower restaurant. It had an old, muggy, cigarette smell. I much preferred to be outdoors than tolerate the smell inside. The views were amazing and the ground lush. Tried the Mai Tai because of the TA reviews, but... More

Had lunch here today, it's a little off the beaten track admittedly, but the food was fantastic, the staff were attentive and thoroughly nice, and the views across the Bay, were a beautiful backdrop to a great dining experience, thoroughly and unequivocally recommend a visit.

We were a group of 8 some with dietary restrictions, and 6 of us had never had Hawaiian cuisine. Our waiter was great explaining the dishes we asked about. Everyone enjoyed the meal they chose. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the terrific scenery.

We wanted to eat at a place on the water at the last minute and Bali Hai was the only place we could get in. I went there as a child when tiki places were the rage. It was huge back then with endless waits. Fast forward to now: much smaller but very nice place. Great patio. Food is not... More

Several friends recommended finding my way to Bali Hai -- which is a bit out of the way -- and I'm so glad I did. Dinner at sunset was beautiful as the lights of San Diego sparkled. Loved the signature tropical cocktails and the fresh seafood. So make the trip and take the time to go to Bali Hai!

Excellent view. If you're on vacation & want a nice view, on the water this is a good choice (the other being Island Prime / C Level, which has better food but not as good of a view). Everybody raved about the Mai Tai, which I thought was pretty bad. Maybe it's good if you're looking solely to get drunk... More

We often takes walks around San Diego Bay and stop for refreshments. The Bali Hai is one of our favorites stops because their Mai Tais are the best and they have some tasty appetizers.. We enjoyed the poke yesterday. We sit at the bar and the view is terrific. Beware you cannot order more than two mai tais. House policy... More

This restaurant is featured in a great location. With almost a 360 degree view of the bay and down town, it's a nice place to go for a special occasion. I went for my anniversary. The restaurant was crowded the night we went, with a wedding going on downstairs. Nonetheless, although arriving 30 minutes early from our reservation time we... More
