It is all about the table

So let me tell you right away that if you don't have a table at the window don't bother to go there. It is all about the view and not so much about the food. I was lucky enough to get an outside table and got the view. Very romantic especially since I went with my wife. The food was... read more

Beautiful building and has such a fun and unique history. The views are fantastic. My tiki drink was pretty good but I found the food to be average. I ordered the swordfish which was a nice portion but very overcooked. I would come back for the ambiance and try something different on the menu.

While I've eaten here many times over the years, this is the first time I've been here for their Sunday Brunch. It was very good and had a good variety of different breakfast foods as well as lunch type foods. I made the mistake of not looking over the WHOLE buffet first and filled my plate with eggs, bacon, etc...... More

we stopped in on recommendation of a local patron and while not disappointed, we were not overwhelmed. The service was efficient and friendly and the view was definitely exceptional of the sun setting over San Diego. The food was cooked to order but was just average. We had the roasted Brussels sprouts which were delicious. The fish was overcooked and... More

Went to Bali Hai for a family reunion after a wedding... yes a full weekend. I had been here before and found it to be fantastic, just as it had been the first time I had been there. They have a South Seas menu that is largely noodles and seafood... I had the Ahi, which was reasonably portioned, along with... More

This is a family favorite for us, coming for years; they did a remodel some years back and it looks fabulous. Stay for dinner or grab a drink in the bar, the bar menu has great options for snacks as well and you get the same fabulous view!

I was looking for a place for late breakfast, don't like usual hotel choice of eggs & donuts :) This place offers at 38$ unlimited buffet with champagne included. Serve crabs, all the usual ready things which I didn't try and station where they do noodles Chinese style with all the possible fillings and sauce at you choice. And if... More

Like so many places with a great view, Bali Hai has decided they don't need to have good food to make money. The meat and fish were overcooked and cold. Sauces were the temperature and texture of applesauce. Service was non-existent when you wanted something but cleared plates for each course before people were really done. The view was outstanding... More

We went for dinner on a Sunday night, and the wait was 30 minutes . Highly recommend you make reservations. There is NO WAIT to sit in the lounge area by the windows with Bay view. And you may still order off the full menu in the lounge area. The view of Downtown San Diego skyline and the Bay is... More
