Still miss the Old Bali Hai

It has been a few years since we were here last. The menu is interesting. We all enjoyed our entrees but still miss some from the old menu. Chef and owners - if you read this bring back Chicken of the Gods! Anyway, you can't beat the location - fabulous especially at sunset. However, the... read more

The current iteration of Bali Hai is no more Polynesian than KFC! The menu is missing good, old favorites (Mediterranean fish like Branzini belong on an Italian menu), the rum drinks are absolutely nothing like Trader Vic's (whose memory they invoke), the service is in need of work, the food is just OK, and the value is non existent! I... More

Rarely do We have a chance to have a brunch! But this time- Yes! And the Bali Hai was highly recommended. We were not disappointed! And your right, they had every possible breakfast/lunch/dinner items you can imagine. We stuck to the breakfast presentation---eggs were done perfectly. meats were tasty, all buns/breads/pastries were house-made. Champagne and orange juice were included. Coffee... More

Group of 10 ate here and loved it. The service was great, awesome view of downtown, and the prices are reasonable. Being from the coast I am fortunate to be able to enjoy seafood. I eat it often but never have I enjoyed ANY fish like I enjoyed the Wok Fried Bass. It was incredible. Other guests enjoyed the steak... More

Try a Mai Tai, a light snack, with a beautiful panoramic view of the Bay (evening is best) and you'll fall in love with San Diego!

We had never been here before due to the menu being something we weren't that familiar with. We decided to go for Restaurant Week finally. I would have given the restaurant 4 stars if the portion size of my main dish hadn't been so small. I ordered the pan seared scallops with crispy prosciutto and coconut parsnip puree and roasted... Unique Wedding Destination! We knew a few things when we went to select our wedding location ... we wanted: water views, close to the airport for destination guests, one stop shop ceremony and reception, free parking, delicious food, and a place that is/was quaint and unique and truly showcased the spirit and beauty of San Diego ... not another hotel... The view was great. Service was ok. But the kitchen could really up its game. My friends and I had the PuPu platter to start and it was like a TGI Friday's or Bennigan's. After that I wanted something lighter so I got the black bean tofu and Chinese garlic noodles, and both were bland in taste and mushy in... More

We neglected to plan ahead & did not have a reservation for NYE. Our party of 4 was told an hour wait so we spent some time outside enjoying the view & fire pit in the meantime. After 40 minutes our table was ready, again, outside and with a view. Our server, Kelly, was awesome - friendly, attentive and informative.... More
