Have been meaning to try this place for a while since it is well-reviewed and located in a strip mall with SEVERAL other very good eateries (Renaissance Plaza). Because of the competition for your business, I figured it had to be good to survive. I was wrong. Although the service, ambiance, house white and dessert (tiramisou) were excellent, the food... My wife and I recently dined at Barolo Ristorante Italiano and are extremely pleased with the experience. We’ve eaten at hundreds of restaurants (some of them Michelin rated) from Venice, Italy, to Ragusa, Sicily, over the past few years and can confidently say that the dinners we had at Barolo were comparable to some of the best we’ve had in... I went to this place after reading some reviews from trip advisor and I wasn't disappointed. This is the only place I've been to thus far that can make a pizza exactly as they do in Roma and have it taste just as good. Awesome place to go!

Real Italian food. So tasty and fresh! Friendly staff. Awesone location and easy access, close to interstates 805 and 5. I recommend the Lasagna... Yummy!!!

This is a fantastic, relatively unknown, undervalued restaurant tucked away in a shopping center in north San Diego. What a treasure. Everything is good, but the pear ravioli is to die for.

Make reservations because this place is worth it. Wonderful atmosphere, attentive staff and an extensive wine list. I had the Osso Bucco that was flavorful and tender and we had a calamari appetizer that was not chewy. My wife had the chicken parmagiana that could have fed two people. A must when in San Diego

We were a group of six and had made reservations in advance. When we arrived we were immediately taken to our table. Our service was excellent, drink orders were immediately taken, appetizers arrived quickly and dinner was served in perfect timing. Plus we needed 3 separate checks and that was not a problem at all. The food was excellent. Everyone... More

Man oh man, if you love italian food and I mean great italian food you have to eat at my friend Gino's restaurant Barolo in UTC. I have pretty much eaten it all on the menu, and everyday they have specials too so you never run out of trying something new there. My favorites, you know just looked at the... More

The food here is great -- , handmade pasta, seasonal soups, seafood perfectly sauced and never overcooked, and there is always something unusual on the menu like lamb chops, venison, a super-fresh fish. Wine list pairs well with menu and waitstaff is very knowledgeable so you can rely on their suggestions. Corkage available, too. Lavender creme brulee was big enough... More
