One of the best salmon dishes I have ever had!

I love salmon so I order it all the time. The salmon dish with lemon preserves and capers is easily one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had. One of their signature dishes is the lasagna and it changes all the time. The day we were there it was made with venison and duck. My husband liked it... read more

This spot is tucked into the Liberty Station complex in Point Loma. This complex used to be owned by the Navy and its older style buildings have been updated on the interior while retaining the exterior architecture with its arched promandes and sprawling swards of grass, Parking is very ample The cuisine is Italian. The service is friendly. The decor... More

We hosted a party of 10 and Careen (not kidding) was the excellent server. She was excellent to put up with us due to rowdiness, weird drink orders and general sassiness. We had a great time

This restaurant is easy to get to and offers great food and great libations. The staff is friendly and the owner, Randy, was there when we were. He is very customer oriented and let us know that the bartender and the kitchen is staffed with his sons. They all do a great job. We had great drinks and when I... More

Solare is one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. (It is important to note that I live near Boston's North End, which has some of the best Italian food in the country.) Solare has the freshest homemade pasta I have had and some of the finest Italian gourmet diishes I have seen. The wine list is extensive... More

We hadn't been to Solare in about 3 yrs. The ownership had changed but most everything was the same. We arrived with a reservation on Friday night. The place was packed. We had a nice corner table and enjoyed the scene. The food was very nice. From the Winter Truffles, to the dessert. Both Caesar and Gargonzola-Pear salads were delicious.... More

We live in AZ and spend summers in San Diego. Solare was our favorite place in 2014. This year we went later and asked 4 friends to join us for dinner at Solare. We were shocked at how it has gone downhill. It was a Thurs. night and only one other person was there. The service was non existent. It... More

Bruschetta is a must! Three toppings, each one better than the last great selections of wine by the glass, too tiramisu was fabulous.

I found this restaurant thru recommendations on this site and others. It lived up to its reputation. Service was excellent. The menu was unique and our meal was delightful! Nice ambiance. It requires a cab from downtown but let me assure you it is money well spent to go this restaurant. During our week stay in San Diego it was... More

Husband, teen son and I had dinner with a couple of friends while we were visiting San Diego in September. Friends live in Point Loma and suggested the restaurant as it was nearby. We loved it! Dined on a Sunday night, around 7:30 and we didn't even need the reservation that we had made. Food was terrific. We started our... More
