Solare at San Diego's Liberty Station is a pretty place, bright and airy. The location is convenient to the park's paths along the lagoon. A short lunch menu includes salads, soup, pizza and a few entries. We shared the beet salad ($9.00) and the Margherita pizza ($10.00). The salad: the beets were sweet and not too soft; the arugula was... More

4 of us went to Solare to celebrate our daughter's engagement. We ordered a bottle of champagne; the restaurant were out of our selection; however they offered us different option at a bit of a discount. Our server was very attentive and had some good menu suggestions. The food all came at the same time and it was delicious. At... More

As much as the owners are super friendly, I will not go back to Solare: too expensive, small portions, the taste and concept are far away from the real Italian cuisine. In the evening it is too noisy and impossible to select for a romantic or biz dinner.

We had a wonderful evening with our kids at this restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant. The wine and food were delicious, but what made us very happy is that they can modify almost any meal to be GLUTEN-FREE. We were served gluten-free bread before dinner and my son enjoyed gluten-free pasta. I loved the sea bass steamed in... More

Six of us had a reservation on the patio for a birthday celebration. We all ordered different entrees and desserts and ALL WERE EXCELLENT! We were also very happy with the recommended wines. Altogether a wonderful evening ... we plan to return VERY SOON!

My wife and I met another couple for cocktails and dinner Friday night. We had the table in the wine room -- Fabulous! Both the food and wine were great. Francois, our waiter provided excellent service. Randy, the owner, stopped in to say hello and to check on our dining experience. A+ dining experience!!!

Hi again Folks. We stopped by Solare after a long day of sightseeing. Both of us had the lasagna. It said on their menu that their chef experimented with new lasagna recipes weekly. This week was lasagna made with lamb, mint and eggplant. It was delightful. The menu was good, they had a large wine list, the service was good... More

After coming back from Italy I have to admit I have been spoiled and was skeptical even though I know this restaurant. It's still fantastic and still rates in my most favorite places to eat!

Great food, good service and an attractive restaurant. This place has new owners with the same great food. I only get here about 3-4 times of the year, but its a 70 mile drive. Other than the airplane noise occasionally, there is nothing bad to say. Give it a try.

Perfecto! I wish everyone who enjoys food could experience such a thing at least once in their life! We had a group of 20 people in the Solaire private dining room. Our dinner featured a custom menu made up by the chef for this meal. It featured wild boar cooked 5 different ways with their chocolate salami dessert. The service... More
