Great food and atmosphere!

Everyone at our table enjoyed the ambiance and the food was terrific! The restaurant was quiet and you could actually have a conversation with someone at the table which is rare these days. The meatball burger was awesome and the pizza perfect!

Attended the Mille Grazie in celebration of SD Magazine's Best Italian Restaurant, Best Chef and runner-up for Best wine list awards for Solare. The food was amazing the suckling pig was divine!

This was really fun. Yea, it is a bit overpriced, but take in the history of the building too. This is part of the former Navy Training Center.

We had eaten at Solare's sister restaurant in Pacific Beach and thought this would be similar. I wanted their lasagna but it is the chef's choice and that night we went it was a lamb sugo lasagna. Not my first choice. Then there was the Osso Buco which I love but it was a 22 oz. portion. There was a... More

Solare was one of the most expensive meals we had in San Diego - but having said this, the place is beautiful, the staff very attentive and the food was delicious. Reservations are probably recommended since this place can get crowded. Pasta is top of the line - truly hand made.

Full review and photos: http://bit.ly/1OjWhXl The origin of tasting menus is quite obscure and there are many different theories going as far back as to the Ancient Greeks and Romans who have been reported to serve multi-course menu consisting of 16-20 dishes. Individual courses might not have been as sophisticated as those of today’s cuisine, but these “tasting menus” already... More

Had a New Year's eve party close to our hotel. So we went late at night fater their dinner party. Place was very crowded with what seemed like regulars. Good mixed drinks. Not much place to sit. They had champagne and New Year's eve hats.

Thought it impssible to find but Solare - in Liberty Station, Point Loma, San Diego - has truly delicious Gluten Free pizza! It is so reassuring to see a restaurant that takes GF seriously. Everyone in our party enoyed the food, service was impeccable. Wine recommendations were als spot on. We're definitely coming back!

I attended a nice gathering at this venue with 13 other seminar attendees and it was almost unanimous that all of us thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the opportunity to discuss the day's events in this cozy setting. We were seated in a private room, but the staff made us feel like we were the center of their... More
