On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.

Best Breakfast on the trip

We had breakfast at several places during our week long trip and this was by far the best. The portions were great. The food was so fresh and although a little pricey well worth it. Don't be a fool and not go to Brian's 24 It's top notch

Attached to our hotel, we decided to have a drink the first night! Service was fantastic and as it was happy hour our drinks were very cheap! Came back for drinks and dinner on our last night, different service staff but still great, food tasty and still inexpensive! Give this diner a go!

Great food for takeout after a night out - portions are huge. I've also heard the day-menu is also amazing! Enjoy!

I was in San Diego for work and figured the hotel breakfast would be rubbish as usual, so I looked for a local place. Some friends mentioned that they heard Brian's 24 was good, but they hadn't actually been. I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. First, the place is beautiful. It's in a historic building... More

Read good reviews about this place and had to come see for myself. Good size portions and delicious food served here! I truly enjoyed my meal. Staff is attentive and courteous to everyone. Worth going back to try other items, all items on menu look delicious, so many to choose from! Open 24/7. If driving, park on street or there... More

We went here because it was open late and it had good online reviews. We were hungry and ready to eat but our hearty appetite didn't make things any better. Not only was service slow but the only part of our order that the waitress got right was the beverages. She even brought the wrong entrée. But hey, maybe anyone... More

My husband and I ate at Brian's several times in one week. Each time the service was good and the food was tasty. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. You can get breakfast anytime day or night.

We headed out for a late night dinner on a Sunday evening and found Brian's. This is a fun and different place. The menu is HUGE! If you can't find something to eat here, there is a problem. The food was very good. We ordered the chicken and waffles, omelet, and a burger. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent.
