On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.

Amazing Food, 30min wait

The food was great and there was a lot of it. There is a lot of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, we had to wait about 40minutes to get seated. But I'd say it was worth the wait. Obviously if you have to wait that long, something has to be fabulous.

This is the BEST breakfast place in town. Recently remodeled and I hate the remodel, but the food is still great. Also get unlimited refills on soft drinks and coffee/hot coco. Food is gigantic and delicious. Any time I have family or friends I hit this spot. A MUST go to in San Diego. massive rootbeer float and chocolate chip... More

Decided to try Brian's 24 after recommendations from TA and others and it did not disappoint! The menu is huge with choices for every appetite. The portions were also big enough to share. The stuffed French Toast was amazing would for sure recommend this place highly for anyone looking for a good meal in the gas lamp district

The hubby suggested this place but I wanted something more exotic so we passed. Then the next morning I wanted something close so I walked over from the hotel by myself and I'm so glad I did. WOW! I ate there every morning and a few nights from then on, all week. Great music, fantastic food and the staff is... More

I certainly wasn't blown away by the food or the service....but I wasn't turned off by it either. Very ordinary. I love a good corned beef hash so I tried Brian's. Again, very so-so. Probably wouldn't have it again and would try the pancakes, which they say are the signature items. Denny's says the same thing.

Large portions served and very filling, gosh I'm full. Kids should share a meal and not order individually, 3 pancakes stacked size of the plate! Omelet was good, but it was like any other omelets, nothing special. Next time I'll try the roast beef hash, yummy. Atmosphere was loud but thats because this place was full, good sign. We'll definitely... More

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast as we were staying at the Ramada Gaslamp that is located right next door. My wife had Joe’s Special, which was lots of food, and she said was very good. I had their Gaslamp Power Breakfast, which was huge and was also very good. This restaurant was packed when we were there.... More

One of the best restaurant breakfasts I have had in a long time. We went elsewhere the next day but had to come back. The staff are great and the atmosphere is fun.

My husband and I had lunch here today...a friend had told me it was very good. Jim started with a salad in place of fries with his hamburger. The salad was very good, all fresh lettuce, not a spot of brown on anything. His hamburger was very good. I ordered the "honey stung" fried chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables.... More

This morning was my second visit in less than 24 hours. This morning I stopped in to have breakfast prior to getting my day started. I was immediately greeted after walking through the door with a "good morning, sir. Please feel free to sit where you'd like." Within seconds I had a menu in my hand and a glass of... More
