On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.

Great variety, huge portions, fast service and great tasting meals. Go to breakfast BEFORE 9am or be prepared to wait! Note: this place is open 24/7!

I was looking for a local breakfast place while my wife was busy at her conference and found Brian's 24 online. I liked that it was a little out of the way so I decided to make the walk and give it a shot. So glad I did. One of the best breakfast experiences I have had in quite some... More

Sampled food at centrally located Brian's both morning and evening, and the menu is comprehensive for both meal types. I made the 'mistake' of opting for one of the breakfast specials, with a side of beef hash - huge, and ensured that I didn't have to trouble myself with lunch! Free coffee refills assisted digestion. For our evening meal (different... More

This is a great breakfast place but also does lunch, dinner and late late night...hence the 24. Had the traditional Benedict eggs. Good. The pancakes are huge and delicious. Place has full bar and night atmosphere.

I am from Georgia, where we are known for our chicken and waffles. Hands down this place in my opinion beat gladys knight chicken and waffles. Here at Brian's 24, they give you 1/2 a chicken, cooked to perfection. I mean the chicken had the perfect crunch and season beautifully! The waffle was a fluffy Belgian waffle, sprinkled in powder... We were staying at the nearby Kimpton Solamar and didn't like the breakfast options (too foo-foo for my tastes), so they recommended we head to Brian's 24. Brian's is open 24 hours a day, hence the name "Brian's 24". Since I had my 4 year old son with me, we looked for the kid's menu, and the closest they had... More

This one place you simply MUST visit if in San Diego! The food is superb as is their service! There is so much on the menu to chose from and what I like is that even if it's 3pm and you want breakfast, that's fine you can order breakfast! The portions are very generous and prices are very reasonable (especially... More

Best breakfast place for hungry Midwesterners. Traditional eggs, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes. Best we had in San Diego Gaslamp district. No fare for timid diners! Large portions. Nice traditional surroundings.
