On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.

Breakfast. Great menu and the food wasn't bad (lots of it) but the place had a dark and dirty vibe. Poor service. I won't be back.

We tried Brian's 24 for breakfast, based on the positive Yelp reviews. We were highly disappointed. While service was fine, the food was mediocre. The eggs were tasteless, sourdough toast was soggy and had a funky taste. There are better restaurants in the area for breakfast.

Great portions, great menu and great place to eat late in San Diego since they are open 24 hours... especially after a long drive like we did.

Brian's is open 24 hours and their service on the morning I visited was very good. Their menu selection is huge as well but a bit pricey for what you get which to me seemed mediocre. I had the Machaca Frittata which really did not have much steak like it was supposed to. It also turned into a sloppy mess... More

The portions here are gigantic! I got the stuffed French toast which was amazing! My friends got omelets and other dishes that they couldn't finish. The place was so good we went back for dinner. Again, large portions...especially the pizza tots. We could barely make a dent in the pound of tator tots. I got the bbq chicken pizza which... More

The s'mores pancakes are amazing!! They were huge, I was only able to eat about a 4th of them. My friend had the burger with bacon, egg and potato cake. Said "I just can't quit eating"

So, I got told to come down to this place for breakfast, better make sure your hungry as the food comes big with a massive choice on the menu! It's very busy between 9 and 10am so avoid those times if you can.

We had breakfast at several places during our week long trip and this was by far the best. The portions were great. The food was so fresh and although a little pricey well worth it. Don't be a fool and not go to Brian's 24 It's top notch
