Description: On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.

As Brits having only been in the USA for a week or so, we're still getting used to the portions! I had stuffed (with bananas) french toast which was relish and MASSIVE. Partner had a stack of pancakes which he couldn't even put a dent in! Nice coffee, warm service and a definite find in San Diego. $34 for two.

Ended up here at 3am and it was busy enough that there was a line to get in. The 20 min wait for take out was totally worth it!!! We had the strawberry stuffed french toast - it was heavenly! The bacon waffle was delicious, and I think I ordered the chicken strip something but that might have turned into... More

Picked Brian's for Sunday breakfast for it's location to my hotel; service was very good and it's a fun atmosphere. HUGE portions! wish I would have shared a dish. We had Chicken and Waffles and Roast Beef hash. The chicken was very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The hash was good but could have used more flavor. Our coffee was always... More

We ran into this restaurant without meaning to but I'm glad we decided to eat there. We were walking around gaslamp district trying to find a good place to eat some breakfast. We noticed the crowd of people waiting to be seated here so we thought it must be good. We put our names down and had to wait about... More

Loved the Happy Hour drinks and food specials. Great food and plenty of it. Conveniently located adjacent to our hotel.

You got to try this place! It's has "Old town" style decor with a beautiful antique wood bar. I could not believe the choices on the menu. We tried this place for breakfast while on vacation in San Diego in the Gaslamp Quarters with my family. We ordered Pancake,Omelette's,French Toast and the Gigantic"California Burrito". We enjoyed it so much,we went... More

The food was huge in portion size and tasted great. Try the California Burrito!! A dish large enough to split! Only downfall, they get so busy sometimes it's hard to catch their attention for extra beverages, but usually someone helps out (they definitely work as a team in there).

Bacon was just perfect! Need I say more? Cooked just right; I only got 4 pieces and wished I ordered a side of bacon to go with the bacon. Yes I enjoyed the bacon!!! Crispy and the cut was just perfect, not too thin nor too thick, just right. The breakfast potatoes had onions mixed in with out being over powering;... More
