On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.

Bring your appetite for this conveniently located restaurant in the Gaslamp District. If you are lucky to get there early enough you have a choice of two mega breakfasts which will feed two. The service is fast and friendly and gladly filled up a fresh go cup of coffee when I left.

Great place and the carne asada omlette was to die for! Huge portions! Perfect for any meal. Walked there from the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown.

The food is great as is the service. We ate there most of the week both breakfast and dinner. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge.

Brian's24 offers a wide variety of choices and that are all very good and extremely plentiful. I was not a fan of their coffee but everything else we tried was great and the service was 2nd to none.

Interesting bit of trivia about the actual bar and Joan Crawford - they have her picture up on the wall; if you are in be sure to ask bartender about the bar, fun little bit of history. Food was good - they were busy at breakfast time. Also was there in early evening and it was an easy place to... More

Large portions and a full bar. Not inexpensive. I would rate it at two dollar signs, and not one, as many sites do

This is honestly one of the best restaurants we have ever been, everything we ordered was SO good that we couldn't have enough. The four of us got each something different so we could share and after one taste of each dish we couldn't make up our minds of what was better because all the dishes where great. I personally... We actually ate at breakfast time. Corned beef hash Benny and chicken and waffles. Great taste and huge portions. Great service by Danny. I would recommend you check this place out when you want a yummy and satisfying meal.

Brian's was excellent! The food was great, you get a lot of it & the staff was friendly & attentive. We were there for breakfast & could not have picked a better place. You do get a lot of food so if you're not a big eater consider sharing.

Food was very good and more than you can eat; not very much room. We all ordered something different (some breakfast, some burger). It was all very good. The Brian's Big Breakfast Sandwich was awesome.
