I have eaten a lot of burritos in my life and we have even lived in Mexico. I had a steak and shrimp burrito and it was amazing. When you are so close to the border do not bother with the Indian or Thai places just go Mexican. They also make great margaritas.

We had to wait over an hour to get in here on a Saturday night. Food was average in my book. Definitely not worth the wait. They did comp our first round of drinks though. Service was pretty good. Might go back, not sure.

Received a tip about a great Happy Hour at a San Diego Gas Lamp favorite. La Puerta seems to be always busy and is very popular. Here's a tip: La Puerta offers Happy Hour specials ALL NIGHT on Mondays! Glasses of beer, wine and some cocktails are 1/2 price. A terrific selection of appetizers are also 1/2 price. Tacquitos and... More

On a recent business trip I stumbled upon this restaurant in the Gaslamp district. I have had a lot of Mexican food in my life, and I can honestly say this was some of the best I've ever! I had tacos and the guacamole, and I couldn't believe how tasty it was. The service was average, but the food is... More

We ate here a few times while in SD as we were staying around the corner. The food here is really, very good. The portions are also huge and the drinks were great. However, we struggled with the service. It is very hit and miss. It takes a while to get drinks, have menus provided, etc. Getting the attention of... More

I loved this place! My friend and I went their for brunch on a Saturday about 10a. The streets were deserted, and this place was no exception. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a friendly bartender. He was just the right amount of sarcasm and witty banter. I had the pulled pork pancakes and wow! That was... More

Went with friends for a late lunch and were pleased to be seated right away. We got drinks pretty fast but then our waitress said she would be taking a break but someone would check on us. Our food was delivered and it was really good...everyone liked what they ordered. But then we felt abandoned...someone came by and took a... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to watch a couple of World Cup matches in the heart of downtown San Diego. We found this little gem of a place. Good food, nice selection of tequilas, prices are reasonable, and wait staff are efficient and friendly. I really enjoyed their potato flautas, salas are pretty good, if you... More

This is a great authentic Mexican restaurant. My bff and I had the three taco specials for lunch. Each one was better than the next, they were fantastic, some of the best I've ever had! Also had the guacamole. Oh my was it delicious. It is a fun, loud casual place with great food. It was our first visit, and... More
