fun menu and great food and wine pairings.

Let me first start by saying that the Wine Vault enjoys a great reputation in San Diego and deservingly so. Four of us made reservations for their Cajun Tasting meal at $47.50 per person. I've been here several times. It's a great time if you know what your getting into. Let me explain... It's a very small place so you will get great service. Ideal for 4-6 people, not a large group. It's on the romantic side, So couples, yes, Friends yes, children.. I would leave at home. Every week there is a wine... More

Owner greeted us with a flute of champagne, and the tone for the evening was set. It was all amazing. Enjoyed different paired 3 course dinners, and we were both very, very satisfied. My date's gnocchi was to die for.

Set off the beaten path in Midtown, this is a superior restaurant per San Fran foodies that rivals those in San Fran. The executive chef creates menus based on what's fresh, so the menu changes often. Often there is a fixed-price menu for a reasonable $25 or $30. Wine pairings are usually an even more reasonable $15-25. Since the food... More

This is a no brainer review. Wine Vault is one of the best possible experiences one can have in dining. Their winemaker dinners are always fun, innovative, and well prepared. Chris and Mary (the owners) are so very friendly, and take a lot of pride in what they do. I have no hesitation sending my closest friends and family there,... More

but I think you'll really like it. This restaurant is a real find - great food, reasonable prices, great wait staff. The portions are small, but with the number of courses, there's plenty to eat. And, the neat thing is you'll try things you've never had - like the crispy duck tacos. The wines pair well with the food if... More

I guess I would rate them with a C+, but I can't really rate them much higher. The fixed menu was good, but I wasn't impressed with the limited wine selection. The 5 wines on the tasting menu were the only wines we could get an individual glass of. I don't like whites or dessert wines, so that left 2... More

I live in San Diego and have been going to the Wine Vault for many years. Because the menu changes every week, it's like visiting a different restaurant every time you go, I haven't had the same meal twice in over 6 years of going there. Thye use the freshest ingredients, they use very creative ingredients, nothing necessarily out of... More

I must start out by saying our Prix Fixe 3 -course dinner and several appetizers were good. However, the service is what left a very negative feeling about ever returning to this restaurant. We (12 diners) waited a significant amount of time to be acknowledged by the wait-staff....plenty of time to determine 2 of us preferred to order a bottle... More

This bistro is most of the week first and foremost a very good wine store/ eclectic wine tasting room (serving small plates) , but, on the weekend, starting Thursday it is a full fledged restaurant with a limited but fabulous menu created with fresh products of the week and served with absolutely perfect wine pairings that allow the guest to...
