We're not Italian, but are originally from Brooklyn, NY. We've tasted some of the best Italian food from home cooks to great restaurants. Pomodoro rates right up there with the best. The service was superb and the food was outstanding. The feel of the place was like one of the home-style establishments in Brooklyn. We ate there twice while in... More

We liked everything about this restaurant. The location, the décor, the menu selections. Our waiter was from Northern Italy and he took great pride in talking about the food. Absolutely delicious meatballs, and the risotto was perfect. We had lunch and found it relaxing and oh so good. Spumoni for dessert, served with a flair. You won't be disappointed.

We called at 7:00 on a Friday night to see if they could fit three for dinner. Was told they would have a table waiting for us (wasn't sure that was such a great sign). Got there 30 minutes later and the line was building up. We were seated immediately. Atmosphere was very comfortable...kind of a covered patio feel. Menu... More

This restaurant was recommended by someone in the AAA Westways magazine. Since I love Italian food I had been waiting to try it and finally had my chance tonight. First of all, it's a really cute place and has outdoor seating. I shared a salad with my friend. It was a plain green salad without all the toppings American restaurants... More

The Pomodoro is located in Shelter Island, close to Humphreys and other hotels. My husband said his salmon was the best he's ever had anywhere. My spaghetti was good, but a little salty. Our daughter's chicken dish was very tasty, and the Pomodoro is a favorite place of hers, so when family visits from out of town, she always suggests... More

Seven of us met here for dinner on Mother's Day. Seated us immediately and let us have a leisurely meal, which was appreciated as some of us had not seen each other in over 30 years! Most everyone enjoyed their food. The only complaint was that the lasagna seemed to be swimming in sauce. Too much of a good thing!... More

Generous portions of very tasty food. Rustic decor. Attentive staff and appeared to be busy even on a Monday night.

We had a great late lunch there. I had one of the best mushroom ravioli I've ever had! The fresh mozzarella appetizer (I think it was called a burrata?) was also very good. Highly recommend the restaurant.

Great feed we had here, I'll come back and have another if I ever make it back to this neck of the woods, which is unlikely, as this was very much a one-off visit.
