Lovely ambiance, very "Italian" service

We happened upon Pomodoro while we were staying on Shelter Island. The restaurant was not very busy, which was surprising because of how lovely the ambiance. We happened upon Pomodoro while we were staying on Shelter Island. The restaurant was not very busy, which was surprising because of how lovely the ambiance. The menu was large and varied, though nothing was totally unique. Of course, I state that, but was pleased with the minestrone that came WITHOUT beans -- exactly as it should be, which is... More

Great Italian food, great atmosphere, not overpriced, well-situated and worth a visit - went in the evening and really enjoyed seeing so many locals eating out

San Diego's Point Loma neighborhood presents a multitude of restaurant choices, including several featuring Italian cuisine. I heartily recommend Pomodoro to those looking for an authentic, reasonably-priced, quality-first option. A rustic and cozy setting and ambiance complements a diverse menu with plenty of specials, all with an Italian touch. I had the salmon piccata with roasted vegetables, perfectly done. Superb... This restaurant had been highly recommended by a friend who had dined there are on numerous occasions. Five of us, each with five different dishes could not have been more pleased. Extraordinary barely covers our enthusiasm. I've never had such well prepared and executed Italian dishes in my life. . . and I'm old. . .and I'm a foodie!

We had a very nice dinner at the Pom Doro Restaurant and loved our food. I had the black risotto and Tiramisu as desert. It was great and we will be back if we are in the area again.

Happened upon this restaurant on a walk around where we were staying after spending the morning at Cabrillo. Go there! The food is so well prepared and tasty that you can't go wrong. Even went there a second time before leaving.

We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the meal was awesome. We totally enjoyed the atmosphere, and the service went great also! Would heartily recommend this restaurant to all!! The chicken breast had a super taste to it!
