Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Creme Brulee. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats. We enjoyed our lunch of grilled fished sandwiches at the Brigantine. Polite and courteous staff. A bit pricey for lunch but we really wanted some fish!

Have heard persons rave about this place, but when we went the service was so so and the food was good but not great expecially for the price.

Restaurant really needs upgrades, definitely a 70's old wood vibe. Server was attentive at the beginning but didn't see him again until we asked for our bill. Food, was average. Nothing amazing and they actually didn't recommend the fish tacos which we had been told to request. Clam chowder was tasty but runny and calamari tasted like the oil had... More

Last night we randomly decided to eat at Brigantine in Point Loma. We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice, warm atmosphere and friendly service. Our dinner choices included Seared Ahi, Brig house salad and Clam Chowder. All were very good. We will eat there again when visiting the area.

This is a comfortable but noisy bar/restaurant. Best Item on the menu is fish tacos. They are generous, fresh, delicious and cheap! Service is friendly and surroundings are pleasant

Had heard that their fish tacos were some of the best in SD, so wanted to check it out. Made reservations, and was glad we did as it was a pretty busy Saturday night. Our server was friendly and fast. The soup of the day was a white bean and beef, and was wonderful. The fish tacos were outstanding! Our... More

Weekday dinner at this restaurant was an all around wonderful experience. Everything; the décor, the service, the food, were all first rate! The portions were generous and delicious. Our waiter was superb, providing the perfect combination of attentiveness while allowing us a great deal of privacy for our romantic dinner out. The best surprise of all came when he brought... More

Just a quick walk from our hotel on Shelter Island, The Brigantine was romantic & delicious. Our waiter Dusty was all about attention to detail~ split our salad, brought different dressings, made any special requests or substitutions happen effortlessly, and anticipated our needs before we had to ask. The shrimp cocktail was great~ huge crunchy cold shrimp. Grilled Swordfish, a... More

Overall a good experience. I would recommend to a friend. Great place if you are staying near Shelter Island. There is seating outside, but it is too far from the harbor for a view.

Started off with the Artichoke fritters first time for this type of appy and were enjoyed by both. Dinner consisted of the Cioppino and the grilled jumbo prawns (and the word jumbo is an understatement they were enormous) both meals were very, very good. Too full to even attempt a desert. Overall nice location close to hotels on Shelter Island... More
