Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Creme Brulee. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats. Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas. The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Monday-Saturday. With my family I went for happy our but we ended up with a lousy hour. After waiting for a long time for our order. The happy hour oyster shooter we order was only catchup with a very small oyster and NO vodka. To get the vodka we were asked to pay extra.

We stopped in here for an early supper. Since it was just before 5pm we had the option of ordering off the less expensive lunch menu. The server was polite, and attentive enough. We both ordered a variation of fish taco....I had the swordfish and my hubby had the Mahi mahi. The food was prepare quickly, with very fresh ingredients... More

They have a good seating area in the bar section to sit and have apps and cocktails. The prices get reasonable during happy hour. The inside was remodelled a while back and is really nice. I like to sit by the fireplace and catch a game (we just watched one of the world series games there). Tacos are great, calamari... More

Enjoyed a great meal with an old friend. Wonderful location with outstanding seafood and service. I wasn't too hungry so I just had the clam chowder. My buddy truly enjoyed his 3 course sole fish dinner.

I love this place! We sat in the bar area for Taco Tuesday. Started off with the Napa Valley Nachos (off the regular menu). The were tasty! Next was fish tacos- I tried the classic and the mahi. Both were good- and they were really good sized. For dessert, I has the mud pie that they're know for- and it... More

Staying at a hotel on Shelter Island, the first two nights we walked right past the Brigantine looking for a good seafood dinner. The string of Christmas lights along two exterior balconies make it appear somewhat cheesy and small, and from the street the second-floor location may not inspire confidence, but once you open the downstairs entrance door and climb... I took my spouse here as a surprise for our 25th and was terribly, terribly disappointed. I don't get how they have rave reviews. Maybe the chef stayed home sick or something. Food was bland and boring. I don't mind paying good money for good food, but I do mind paying lots of money for average food. Service was good,... More

Though my Sand Dabs were very good my husbands $30.00 seafood stew was the worst he has ever had. The fish, shrimp, lobster and mussels were like rubber, tough, and had no flavor from excessive overcooking. The stew came with seven mussels but three did not have any meat. Both of us had a cup of clam chowder and were... More

Great atmosphere and setting. Food delicious. Had to laugh when waitress abruptly asked my age when I ordered a drink: I'm 34.... Never the less great food and service would recommend highly.
