Great venue for business, couple or family dinner. The hotel is beautiful and the view from the dining area outside is lovely. All of the food was delicious and service was excellent. Although out of the pork chop entree two people in our party wanted, the waiter delivered the message with care and the second choices were delicious, steak and... More

terrific place to dine at the Grand del mar. The decor is elegant and old world but the food choices are modern, light and delicious

The Amaya is a beautiful restaurant at The Grand. The food is excellent, the service is both efficient and friendly, and the ambience is great. We all asked for a Cobb salad but with shrimps instead of chicken (we've done this before!), and it was really tasty - in fact our server thought they ought to put it on the... More

We recently took out of town guests to Amaya for a anniversary dinner. Disappointing. We had reservations at 6:15 for four of us. We did not expect to be there till 8:45! Our waiter took too long to bring the correct wine...and then our salad arrived a half hour later. Our entrees were very good...despite taking too long to arrive.... More

Splurged to take my wife to the Grand Del Mar Mother's Day Brunch. Costly mistake. The $89 brunch actually costs $238 for 2! because of a mandatory 20% tip and tax. The brunch is served in a stuffy banquet room with NO WINDOWS! The staff was nonchalant and not attentive. Had to wait 30 minutes to get my credit card... More

This is a very nice place. I'd give it 4.3 stars if there was a box for that. I don't give 5 unless everything is vitually perfect. My wife and I each had an appetizer, entree and desert. I had a margerita and my wife had two glasses of their house reisling. My drink was average, my wife's wine was... More

I travel the world and eat everywhere from Roberto's tacos to the best french food. We are lucky to live close to this hotel and like the outdoor seating. It's like being in a foreign country without the long ride. It was our first time trying the Duck… YUM! You also can not go wrong with the Sea Bass or... More

Don't eat at Amaya if you're hungry. Entrees are extremely small. Salads are nothing special. This is an expensive restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere. A $30 entree should be a reasonably sized serving. We were there last week and were embarrassed by the small amount of food served. No potatoes or rise or vegetables served with about 4 bites oh... We eat here frequently. World class setting, good service, excellent menu choices, food delicious and accommodating to some health related dietary restrictions, great treats for after dinner. You can actually dine, talk, hear one another, and if licking the plate were appropriate I would do that too. Dinner for four, with wine, desert, tax and tip was $300.00. Not cheap... More
