Good traditional French food in a nice atmosphere

We went here for for lunch during restaurant week. A previous dining experience here was less than perfect. I had the mushroom raviolis as an appetizer and the sea bass canoise for my main dish. The raviolis themselves were very good but I thought the sauce was a little too spicy. The sea bass was... read more

It's a shame the management did NOT staff the restaurant appropriately for Restaurant Week. Our poor Waiter acted as the Maitre D, bus boy, waiter. I saw TWO servers and 1 bartender on a Sunday night during Restaurant Week. Just Not enough! I have to say, The food was perfect . I enjoyed my duck confit of a leg &... More

I went to Hexagone, where I have enjoyed the food in the past, even though service has always been a bit spotty. Today, I was simply ignored. After being given a lunch menu (very short) and a glass of water, I sat for 25 minutes, while other diners were served. No one came to my table, though I attempted, in... More

I like Hexagone a lot - it's an unpretentious French Bistro serving very good food with knowledgeable and helpful servers. We ate with friends - they split a salad and I started with my usual - escargots in vampire slaying sauce. My wife had the day's special dish - seabass with prawn and scallop in a citrus reduction and I... More

This restaurant is top of the line in Fine Dining. Elegant atmosphere, great service, excellent selection of entrees, highly recommended for that special occasion. My friend started with the apple salad and I had the escargot, main entree was Sea Bass and Rack of Lamb, finished of with Crape Suzette for dessert. The entire evening could not have been better,... Had lunch at Hexagone for a little holiday celebration yesterday and the food was delicious, flavorful and the menu quite extensive. Had the Onion Soup Gratinee which was lovely and the Seabass which was light and tasty. My fiend had the escargot which was also prepared in the traditional garlic butter style and the short ribs which were tender and... More

I try and go to this restuarant every time I visit San Diego. The food is TERRIFIC and always consistant. The staff are always friendly and the owner runs a tight ship. Look forward to my next meal at Hexagone.

We had reservations at 5pm and were seated immediately. Our server was also the bar tender of the evening. He gave us his complete attention without ignoring his other duties. We shared 2 appetizers of mozzarella and tomatoes(caprese) and a cheese platter before sharing their special of the evening BEEF WELLINGTON. Never having eaten this before, I was so surprised... French food and plenty on the plate. Well prepared with many layers of flavor, we had the Sword Fish Seafood Special, and Beef in Broth, it was out of this world.
