The food is the higlight

The food at Thai Spice is very good but the service and atmosphere are lacking. Curry dishes are very good although curry sauce is a little thin for my taste. On their scale of 1 to 10, a 5 is relatively spicy. Mild at first, but then it creeps up on you. They had a lot of take-out orders the... read more

Look past the mostly indifferent service and the location in a strip mall, and you’ll find really good Thai food at Spices Thai Café. They have a full menu including excellent curry’s (my favorite). The restaurant seems to have a very large number of take-out customers. On the night we were there, I would say the number of take-out customers... More

Easy in and out with nice ambiance and outdoor seating. Servers are efficient and polite. Very clean and conducive for conversation. So a great place for a business lunch or catching up with friends. Shrimp withy broccoli lunch meal was excellent and served with fried wonton, spring rolls, soup, and rice.

I visit at least once a month, the lunch menu is very affordable, abundant and always delicious. The servers have been there for yeas and are very accommodating to any request or change that you may want.

The food here is just delicious, and is fresh and tasty. They have a large selection of entrees on the lunch menu and you add your choice of meat/seafood/vegetarian to the entrees, so you get exactly what you want. Lunch entrees are served with soup, salad, egg rolls and wontons. They also offer daily specials which are listed on the... More

This is another favorite when I am in the area. I love spicy food, and would still give a warning here. At our local Thai place (not this one), I order an "8" on the spice level. Here, that level did me in! I had tears in my eyes from the heat, but I was in heaven. Although the spice... More

We love this Thai restaurant, BUT we are used to ordering a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 for spiciness. Unfortunately, a 7 at this restaurant is SO hot it's inedible! Luckily our server took pity on us and brought us out new meals with less spice! So now we order a 4, and it's REALLY spicy. So... More

We have been coming to Spices whenever we return to San Diego. They just keep getting better. This lunch we couldn't resist our favorites; spices chicken salad and phad thai. This salad is wonderful. The ingredients are a great medley of vegetables, noodles and chicken. But the ginger dressing is out of this world. We could eat this salad as... More

I had staying at a near by hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. They helped me pick the right level of spice for me. They ask you on a scale of 1-10 I had 3 and could have been hotter. I enjoyed the Phad Thai Noodles with chicken. It was very good. They restaurant was nice inside but I... More

The service is excellent. They have a lunch special which is a set number of courses but you get to choose your mains. This is very cheap between 10 to 14 bucks, very tasty and filling. I absolutely loved all the coconut based gravies, especially the mango and the green one. I also like it when the waiters make you... More
