Good BBQ and friendly people

Boss Hawg is a really great place to eat. The BBQ is very good. Be sure to try the brisket chili. I really enjoyed that and my wife liked the small brisket sandwich. The fries were steak style and very well done. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would recommend you try this place!

Boss Hawg's food was sent to my workplace as a thank you from a vendor. The food was great and they have the best baked beans ever! Heck, I'd go just for the beans. Corn bread is very yummy. I took my father for lunch awhile back and the food is a little pricy but all BBQ places are anymore.

We were a party of three our food was cold and not what we expected from a bbq restaurant. We didn't finish our food to the point the waiter asked us why because only a few bites from each of our plates were eaten. We explained our displeasure and were not given a resolve Just the check which was upwards... More

Three of us enjoyed a very delicious lunch. I had their small sandwich with pork and brisket along with a side order of baked beans. The baked beans contain raisins which really add to their taste. They are the best baked beans I have eaten. Their corn bread and butter is excellent too. I look forward to returning again soon!

The restaurant is under new ownership within the last year. Previous owner ran it into the ground and allowed the Friday and Saturday night bar crowd to be over run by the local criminal element. New owner is doing better with keeping that crowd out. Food is getting better and is worth a stop. I always try and support a... More

Went here on recommend of the hotel as best in Topeka and an award winner. Disappointed the meat was dry and the coleslaw was very heavy on mayonnaise. Baby back ribs nothing to write home about, same with the unremarkable brisket and pulled pork, not very hot! You can do better. Next time I'll try Famous Dave's chain, never been... More

Very good ribs in a tasty sauce. The BEST sweet potato fries I've ever had! We did need to look extra close for the sign - drove past it.

Not our favorite style. They have plenty of awards hanging on the wall, but the times we've eaten there the ribs are rather dry. Sides are okay. Service was okay, wait time to be seated was okay. But there are other joints - if given the choice - I'd barbecue at instead. (could be that living next to a barbecue... More

Once again the food at Boss Hawg's did not disappoint. Although they no longer have burnt ends on the menu, rib tips were a fine substitute. I love that Boss Hawg's puts heated BBQ sauce, both sweet and spicy, right on the table so I can have as much as I want. We had rib tips, BBQ sandwich (turkey and... More

We went out last night in Topeka to a BBQ spot recommended by the Info booth at the Mother Earth News Fair being held in Topeka. She assured me it was fabulous, I took her word for it. As I walked in I noticed that Boss Dawgs BBQ had Tiffany Lights with a dragon fly motif. That struck me as... More
