Went here on recommend of the hotel as best in Topeka and an award winner. Disappointed the meat was dry and the coleslaw was very heavy on mayonnaise. Baby back ribs nothing to write home about, same with the unremarkable brisket and pulled pork, not very hot! You can do better. Next time I'll try Famous Dave's chain, never been... More

Very good ribs in a tasty sauce. The BEST sweet potato fries I've ever had! We did need to look extra close for the sign - drove past it.

Not our favorite style. They have plenty of awards hanging on the wall, but the times we've eaten there the ribs are rather dry. Sides are okay. Service was okay, wait time to be seated was okay. But there are other joints - if given the choice - I'd barbecue at instead. (could be that living next to a barbecue... More

Once again the food at Boss Hawg's did not disappoint. Although they no longer have burnt ends on the menu, rib tips were a fine substitute. I love that Boss Hawg's puts heated BBQ sauce, both sweet and spicy, right on the table so I can have as much as I want. We had rib tips, BBQ sandwich (turkey and... More

We went out last night in Topeka to a BBQ spot recommended by the Info booth at the Mother Earth News Fair being held in Topeka. She assured me it was fabulous, I took her word for it. As I walked in I noticed that Boss Dawgs BBQ had Tiffany Lights with a dragon fly motif. That struck me as... More

I went here to get take out to take to a relative's house who was house bound. The server was so, so helpful in helping me choose what to purchase. It only took 10 minutes or so to get our order ready. She included their wonderful butter for the cornbread. We had pulled pork and one pound served four of... More

We made a quick weekend road trip to Topeka. By the time we got checked in to the hotel, we were famished. A friend had recommended Boss Hawg's, so off we went. The atmosphere was good, the wait staff was great, but the food just didn't measure up. The veggies and coleslaw were the stand-out dishes, which should never be... More

Unassuming place in the back of a strip mall. But the service was quick with our party of 11. The pulled pork was terrific as was any type of spareribs. Nicely done sides including the fresh veg. The coleslaw was my fave

Enjoyed our supper of BBQ with fantastic cornbread, fresh veggies and a wonderful cookie. Pulled pork-slaw sandwich is great. There is a Restaurant.com offer to enjoy.

I am a Texan, born and raised. This is my favorite place for barbecue in all of Kansas. Enough said.
