When traveling on I-70, if possible we go out of the way to eat here. I have always had a good meal (love BBQ) and good service, never disappointed.

We recently wanted some bbq and had recently only started to check into some of Topeka's bbq restaurants. The only problem we had, there were going to be 10-12 of us and an toddler. I various places in Topeka and no one could assure us of any seating. Boss Hawgs said there was no problem and it would be taken... More

This place is good BBQ for Topeka. We visited in December 2013 and it was better than I expected. I had the short ribs with beans and cole slaw. Ribs were great, beans were very good and unique and the cole slaw was also better than expected. I would recommend this place.

I was told by a friend I had to come here that the BBQ was the best around. They chop up the BBQ so small it is hard to chew. The smoked meats aren't that smoky. I have eaten BBQ across the country and you can do better than this. Portions are fair and prices are decent. The food just... More

We recently went out on an evening to the Hawg with family for a supper. The service was better than last time (probably just a fluke last time), and the food was a mixed bag. The ribs that one of us had was dry and chewy, however the nachos were very good. The waitress forgot to ask if we wanted... More

Ordered a BBQ pork sandwich with coleslaw and fries. Got a tiny little cup of Coleslaw which was excellent. Got a SMALL amount of BBQ pork on the bread but the bread was soggy so didn't eat it as a sandwich and got a HUGE order of fries. It's never good when the fries take up two-thirds of the plate.... We had the Memphis bell and the burnt ends and sausage for lunch today. Meat was tender and tasty. Fat fries were good and liked the light dressing on the coleslaw. Server was very attentive. Had the lunch size ends and sausage seemed a little expensive for no more meat than what came.

We ate here twice in the past month due to to our purchase of a city promo deal we made. The first visit we had burgers and fries. The hamburger was very good with interesting spices, some heat and smokey flavor in it. Huge portion of home style French fries. This might have been the best bargain on the menu.... More

We've been meaning to try Boss Hawg's for many years. Finally baited by a Living Social style discount deal, we made it in on a very slow afternoon to a completely empty restaurant. Had a friendly server, I got my usual burger, as I'm not a huge bbq fan. Everyone else had ribs, and they said they were very good,... More
