This is the place hubby and I go to have a special dinner or to simply have a relaxing meal. The menu is varied and the food is always above average. The menu changes a lot, and that's ok, as long as they NEVER take the Killer Salad off the menu.

This restaurant was recommended to us by someone we *believe* was connected with the Chamber of Commerce along with one or two other selections. We were hesitant to go to a "nice restaurant" that was located in a mall, but we threw caution to the wind and went inside anyway. The "storefront" is really the only downside for this restaurant,... Did not care for the décor. Way too expensive and weird food. Margarlitas tasted unlike any we had before, not good. Small menu and not what people I know usually eat. Killer salad had grapefruit in it Yuk. Tilapia was good but who eats fried plantains yuck. Tilapia dinner came with a good size piece of fish, but small amount... More

We were passing through Topeka and stopped into this restaurant just before closing. They welcomed us in, even though it was literally minutes before close. The service couldn't have been better - friendly, helpful and efficient. The waiter recommended a really nice wine. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp dish with risotto - so yummy! Too bad we don't... More

New City Cafe is a hidden gem. I was traveling through Topeka on my way to Denver. My traveling companion proclaims "you gotta eat junk on a road trip" As a self-proclaimed "foodie" I am much more choosey and chose New City Cafe. New City Cafe was all that and more. As I walked in, I was struck by the... More

My coworker and I went to check out the new, temporary M&M store and were delighted to see this restaurant next door. We'd eaten at the Gage location several times and enjoyed it. When we walked in just before noon on a week day, we were surprised we were the only patrons. We could see an employee at the back,... More

Tourists in Topeka, we were delightfully surprised to find this restaurant, now on the main drag of Topeka, serving food with a Caribbean and Latin influence. While we had sandwiches, the salads were tempting. Our relatives told us later that it was the best (and only) food in Topeka.

Went there for lunch today. Had the sweet and sour pork loin, steamed veggies, and cup of tomato soup. Very tasty, would definitely go back. Quick service. Even bought a chocolate chip cookie on the way out the door. Nice to support a local restaurant!

This has restaurant been around for a long time. They have now added a daily Happy Hour and a Wine Tasting the 1st Wednesday of the month, plus Breakfast on Saturday mornings. They have a great menu with wonderful appetizers that can be meals in themselves. Luis is really trying to accommadate all arenas...try it!!
