German flavor

Worth winding around the road, cold beer great service, small family atmosphere, benches like German taverns!

I said horseradish pickles! Go get some, they're awesome. The chili is too, and the place is totally unpretentious, but after all, it is in north Topeka

This is a Kansas Bucket List must do. At least get a quart of Porubsky's hot pickles. Stay for a made-to-order sandwich or chili. Pickles also served. Beer available.

Mom-pop operation with great tradition. Sandwiches, chili and hot pickles are the favorites. The grocery store is next to the restaurant. Seating is tricky on a busy day.

Great deli at great prices. Try the hot pickles for a spicy treat. We use Porubsky's for our meetings and everyone loves them!! Beware you will not want anyother after having one of their deli sandwiches. Also in the winter time their chili is the best around

This place is in an area called Little Russia. I can't remember how long it has been there but long before I was born for sure and that was 1948. It is just a little place where you can get a beer and have great sandwiches, hot pickles, and chili and more.I don't think I know anyone that has not... More

My friend and I decided to try this place out. It's legendary in Topeka and we had to check it out. You have to go in the winter when they serve their famous chili--but not on Fridays in catholic tradition. How cool is that? Get the chili and try the cold plate--a mix of cheeses, bread, and various lunch meats.... More

Took some work to find the place. Travel to it on the recommendation of a friend. The sandwiches were very reasonably priced. Plenty of meat. The sandwich overall was somewhat generic but tasted good (smoke turkey with Swiss cheese). Would have liked to try the chili but no chili on Saturdays and the chili season ends April 30th this year.... More

NO CHILI ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY! Expect friendly service and remember the horseradish pickles. All cold sandwiches on the menu plus potato salad. They were out of pastrami and roast beef the Saturday we went but they really pile on the deli sliced meats for sandwiches. Well off the beaten path but a nice place for cold cuts and beer.
