Unfortunately, this past April, a tornado destroyed Vanelli's. In its heyday when Vanelli's was a little hole in the wall on South Gloster near the hospital, however, it was a local favorite, serving the best Italian and Greek dishes in town. Papa Vanelli (Kapenakas) was the best at what he did, making the customer happy! I do miss the Greek... More

Great restaurant but destroyed by a tornado in 2014. May reopen at a later date but owner has not advised the location or date.

The buffet was absolutely delicious. Fantastic salad bar. AND I was shocked when the owner of Vanelli's told us we could bring our little poodle in with us as long as she was well behaved. I just wished that cannoli was available.

It was devastated by the tornado, but word is they are rebuilding. Only smaller the way it was originally started. Great food, some of the best pizza and live, local entertainment on the weekends make it THE place to go while visiting the birthplace of Elvis Presley, Tupelo Mississippi.. Thank ya, thank ya verry much.

It was a unique and cool place, whether for the great food on the restaurant, the music in the bar or some fun on the covered patio. But alas, it is no more. After the destruction from this Spring's tornado, the Kapenakis family threw in the towel after 40+ years in business in Tupelo. Too bad.

love this place. love the comedy hour where they have stand up comedy. I used to go there when it was a little place when I was a little girl, still as good as an adult now

We ate here on a one night stay over while traveling back home from Charlotte, NC. This restaurant was one block in front of our hotel, we walked here after being in the car for most of the day. This was a family run business and the service and food was great, a week after our visit, we found out... More

We ate here in April as we passed through town. The ladies at the local Comfort Inn recommended it to our family. Food was delicious and the servings were BIG- the salads were especially good. Just sat down to review this spot and see that the tornado hit the following week. So sad! Hope they rebuild!

Hope they decide to reopen but it will be a while if they do. The building is totally destroyed due to a tornado that did a tremendous amount of destruction and damage in Tupelo. We've visited all over the US and have never had better pizza. My brother in law from Scottsdale/Anthem/Phoenix area always eats here when he comes to... More

After checking into the nearby Quality Inn I got to Vanelli’s after 9pm on a Saturday. The hostess and waitress were friendly, the table comfortable and quiet, and the meal good. I had a pita gyro, fries, and soda. The selection was good for the time of night. I would have preferred an option to substitute healthier vegetables for the... More
