Johnnie's Drive In was one of our stops during our food tour of Tupelo. We stopped in and although I was there years ago to have a slug burger, I decided on an AM (all meat) burger. In the burger world Johnnie's gets it. It's about the burger! The toppings are there to enhance the flavour and texture of the... More

This being Elvis' childhood fave, we wanted to give it a try while in town. It's a neat little down-home place with friendly people, but I will order differently the next time I am there. Elvis' choice, the "dough burger" was kinda gross in my opinion...edible, but that's all. It is a small burger with bread mixed up in the... More

This iconic restaurant is a step into past. A unique 1950's experience of the local Mom and Pop restaurant with great sandwiches including a popular version of hamburgers in Mississippi called "Dough Burgers." Sit in the same booth where Elvis had lunch. Located only a few blocks from the Elvis Presley Birthplace.

This restaurant should be your first stop after visiting the Elvis' Birthplace. We stopped here for lunch. We were lucky to be seated in the Elvis' booth, which is a very special experience. Everybody here was very friendly, the burgers we had were delicious. But most important, this place is full of Elvis history. There is so much to see.... More

Although they have great all-beef burgers, I would highly recommend you try the Johnnie's Burger, with cheese. It is a different kind of burger but it is delicious. Try at least one. If you are really hungry, try the hamburger steak smothered with gravy and onions. The barbecues are also a bit different (a sweeter sauce than most) but it... More

Our tour guide Mike took us and another couple here for lunch. Wonderful diner and we even got to sit in Elvis's booth. Food was great, and I learned all about the dough burger, a inexpensive alternative to a hamburger. Staff was friendly, and they even will bring food right to your car, reminded me of the old drive-ins of... More

You have to try it-- Elvis did-- you drive up - honk-- they come to your car and take order or you can dine in and set at the Elvis table-- it's small -- try the dough burger you'll either love or hate it-- but their all meat burger is good as is their BBQ--- can't beat their fries and... More

This place has not change since the days of Elvis. The people are just great, food good and the shakes unbelievable. A must for the Elvis fan and to sit in his booth.
