Our tour guide Mike took us and another couple here for lunch. Wonderful diner and we even got to sit in Elvis's booth. Food was great, and I learned all about the dough burger, a inexpensive alternative to a hamburger. Staff was friendly, and they even will bring food right to your car, reminded me of the old drive-ins of... More

You have to try it-- Elvis did-- you drive up - honk-- they come to your car and take order or you can dine in and set at the Elvis table-- it's small -- try the dough burger you'll either love or hate it-- but their all meat burger is good as is their BBQ--- can't beat their fries and... More

This place has not change since the days of Elvis. The people are just great, food good and the shakes unbelievable. A must for the Elvis fan and to sit in his booth.

We should have tried their burgers, but we ordered hot dogs, which were small and are served in a hamburger bun. We also had fries and onion rings, which were both good. The service was good, the prices were really low, and the waitress was pleasant and funny. Being a big Elvis fan, this place was a must see for... More

You will be hard pressed to find another burger better than Johnnie's. Service is genuine Southern hospitality. Atmosphere is great. A truly wonderful experience. I will be back.

We cam through to see some of the Elvis stuff and then move on to Memphis. I saw this and as a lark thought why not. I was not dissappointed. The diner really hasn't changed much from when Elvis was here. There are photos of Elvis sitting at one of the booths, and its not hard to figure out which... More

Stopped here because of the BBQ sign out front. Didn't realize it was connected to Elvis until inside. Our waitress was so kind and friendly; explaining the menu and what food they were locally known for. The BBQ was good. As we were leaving the hubby wanted a photo of the "Elvis Booth" Our waitress came up and invited us... More

We asked the lady at Elvis' Birthplace Tupelo where we should go to lunch and she suggested Johnnie's. We were so lucky to sit in the Elvis Booth. The waitress with the dark brown ponytail was so helpful. She explained the menu and even suggested we split the dough burger so we could try it. It was delicious as was... More

Having just driven from Orlando to visit Graceland, we took the 5 minute diversion to see the Kings birthplace in Tupelo. Needing to rest we decided on the little wooden building on the opposite side of the street for a break. It boasts to be the oldest eaterie in Tupelo and to be honest it looked it, but we wanted... Johnnies has been in Tupelo for many years, including Elvis' time. Small but very friendly and everyone wants to sit in the Elvis booth (you know it's true as there is a photo of a young elvis eating there). Food was good. A great piece of Americana.
