Salvatore's

Amazingly found 5 seats at the bar on a Friday afternoon with friends. We were greeted right away and provided with our drinks quickly. We enjoyed a wonderful meal last night at Salvatore's. First, they were very accommodating when we called to change our reservation, as we were running late. Second, they were patient as we waited for a couple of members of our party. The food was very good and the service as well. We started with the calamari which is served with... More

Near the theater, cinemas and shops in downtown Boston. A relaxed restaurant with good pasta and point. Moderate amounts. Friendly atmosphere. The bathroom in the basement.

Decided to forgo the Christmas leftovers, and wanted to stay local (walking distance). Heard good things about Salvatore's, and we heard right. While the place was very quiet, the service, and our server were still very professional, and helpful. Ordered a small Margarita Pizza as an appetizer, and it did not disappoint! Two of us had seafood ( Haddock &... More

Went to the Washington St. location in the Theatre District for lunch on the 12/28. Ordered the salmon and specifically asked for it well done. Waitress commented that it is usually cooked medium and noted the request for well done. The glaze was good and it was a nice cut of salmon. It was not cooked well done. It was... More

We've been to Salvatore's before, mainly for pizza. This time we branched out and tried two main dishes, the chicken parmesan and seafood fra diavolo. Both disappointed in that they were plain, lacking the depth of flavor in similar dishes served elsewhere. A Caesar like salad was excellent. The kitchen split one salad for us to share, each portion being... More

In general the food is average Italian. However the Po'Boy on the menu was a disappointment not much like the ones I've had in New Orleans where the shrimp are small and plentiful and the remoulade sauce has flavor and real presence. The fries that came with the two sandwiches at our table were cold and unpalatable, but quickly replaced... More

Very nice Italian restaurant. Excellent food and great wait staff and reasonable price for a restaurant in a tourist area. Large menu.

Staying in Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront

Neighborhood Profile
Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront
This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.
