Best 24hr bakery in North End!

This is my go to place in the North End, when I am in the mood for authentic Italian bakery that doesn't break the bank. Love the crusty roll subs, Sicilian pizza slices they'll heat for you, & all though baked good, though my staple is a lobster claw :-)

The local go to bakery. Get your sugar fix anytime in a clean, well stocked bakery. They have from the classic canoli to over 20 varieties of cookies- loved the tiramasu and red velvet.

I love Bova's! People go to the better known Michael's or Modern, however, Boca blows them away. Not only do they have to die for pastry but fantastic bread and sandwiches. And they are open 24/7. Take the time to search Boca's out, you won't be disappointed.

Fabulous little place on the corner of Salem St in Boston's north End. Brought an Italian friend here from an old Italian neighborhood and she was suitably impressed.

We never go to the a North End without a stop at Bova's for treats to take home. It takes awhile to decide what to get when you look at all of the mouth-watering pastries! I highly recommend the Elephant Ears and the assorted Italian cookies. Trust me,whatever you choose will be delicious!

Great spot to walk after dinner- meander thru the streets to the Old North Church and stop in for some late night snacks and smell the fresh bread...

It is the best bakery in Boston. Mikes or Modern doesn't compare. it is walking distance to just about every restaurant in the north end.

We stopped by Bova's for some pastries, but the Bova's Special sub stole our hearts. The Bova Special is a large, cold sandwich that starts with fresh baked crusty Italian bread and is layered with a large quantity of delicious, thin sliced Italian prosciutto, soft slices of fresh mozzarella, ripe tomato slices and fresh basil plus dressing. I shared the... More

I wish I didn't have to give this such a good rating; I hate to think of how this might impact the lines in the future. BUT Bova's is hands down my favorite North End Bakery. A) I love the hours. 24/7 even on Christmas Eve. B) Speaking of Christmas Eve, I needed some pastries for dinner and they set... More

Bova is a humble little bakery shop open 24-hours a day not far off restaurant-lined Hanover Street. You will not be disappointed. We always eat at a variety of North End restaurants for dinner and then save dessert for Bova's. You cannot go wrong with any of their specialties. I particularly love the white coconut cake! I always experiment with... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
