While at a recent convention in the city, we ate here twice and really enjoyed the fabulous food and exceptional service. Our second visit was fairly late one evening, almost 10pm, and although the restaurant was winding down for the evening, we received a warm welcome, a lovely meal and a relaxing environment to enjoy our last night in Boston.... We stopped in last night around 7pm (Tuesday) and the place was full! We waited only about ten minutes for a table and while waiting I watched the sushi chef perform her magic. The kitchen area is all open for viewing which often impresses me as I can see the practices used (or makes me run out the door -... More

Love this restaurant, for the food, service and the atmosphere to meet friends when in Boston. Favourite is the Thai Salad...but the entire menu looks great!

I made a reservation based on the reviews at trip advisor. I was visiting my daughter who goes to school in Waltham. I was looking for great food at the end of what I knew was going to be a long day shopping in Boston. I typically overdress for everything so was not concerned that my entire party was very... More

Just had an amazing meal at Hillstone Boston! Hostess/bartender/waitress/manager all made our evening enjoyable! We actually seek out this restaurant in the cities we travel, as their food is top notch and the atmosphere is always cool/casual. Cannot wait to come back! Because this restaurant is upscale, there is rarely screaming/crying/annoying children, so I don't mind paying a little more... More

I visited the Hillstone Restaurant twice on a recent trip to Boston. The ambiance is excellent - beautifully decorated, good lighting, excellent music. The staff are very professional and extremely polite. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced and served correctly (in my experience, a rarity in the USA). The food is very good, freshly cooked and not over-engineered. Their... More

Ambience was very nice, service was very prompt and our food arrived very quickly. We both went for steaks and they were done just right. Wait staff were attentive so we never had to wait for drink refills, etc.

We visited Hillstone twice and on each occasion we had dishes both good and not so good. For example, the spinach dip was tasty and well prepared, but the rosemary foccacia was little more than bread fried in butter, with virtually no other flavors whatsoever. The Hillstone burger was very good (but not worth the $20 price!), as was the... More

Hillstone's freshly grilled foods was a nice surprise in a traditionally New England venue. I had fresh grilled artichokes served with a light dipping sauce. Perfectly prepared and not something traditionally found in Boston. The cod steak presentation was lightly grilled in lemon and butter! A new take on a traditionally New England options with light , healthy and tasty... More
