Worth the wait!

We had a great meal at Toro. We had to wait over an hour, but it was not a problem as we walked across the street and had a glass of wine. The bar at toro isn't large so it was more relaxing across the street. The place is crowded and very loud, but I enjoyed the 9'ship hop that... read more

Toro is a tapas theme park. We had a simple early dinner of patatas bravas and a half serving of the paella valenciana, with a nice red wine. But, there were so many other plates that we saw on our neighbors tables, that we can't wait to go back and try more of the little plates and give the paella... More

Absolutely love this restaurant. My fiance and I live around the corner from Toro and come for dinner at least twice a month. We love the food and the waitstaff is very knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Some of our favorites include the Paella Valenciana, Jamon Serrano, Octopus, and Duck Drummettes. I would also highly recommend getting at least one pitcher... More

My partner and I recently had lunch at Toro and we were really impressed by the food and the service. We were seated at an outside table immediately after arriving by a smiling staff member. We shared the insalata cortada (fabulous) and an order of salt cod fritters (equally delicious). Although this is predominately a tapas restaurant (think small plates),... More

I would highly recommend this place for people who like to try new takes on traditional cuisines. The flavours are creative, bold and mouthwatering. We were a group of four which was ideal because we got to order a bunch of tapas to share. The dates, corn, hamachi crudo and empanadas were some of our favourites. The waitstaff can be... More

Walked in and felt ancient at 56 years old! Hahaha! Young vibe, but amazing tapas, and high quality food all around...our Paella was really very good! 4 of us had a large one. Cocktails, creative and good. Service was outstanding.....could not have had a better meal and was fun to eat great food, lively vibe, good music, smiling attrative service... More

Hubby and I went here based on a recommendation from friend who love the NYC restaurant. Initially, I was uncertain about the neighborhood but once inside I was reassured. I love the stripped down decor with a high top communal table, lots of small (petit!) tables along a wall and a big friendly looking bar with lots of very fresh... More

We had a mix of tapas. They were tasty, interesting, different. It's fun to share and try out new ones. I wouldn't describe this as a "typical" spanish tapas restaurant. It had some dishes like that, i.e., patatas brava, but many others were more eclectic and nouveau. The place was very crowded, which is typically a good sign; it appeared... More

Had read a couple of reviews of Toro prior to our most recent visit and wanted to try it. They do not take reservations. We inquired with our hotel concierge (The W) if it would be a lengthy wait, and the answer was "yes, definitely. Especially on a Friday night" However, she also indicated that it was one of her... We have been visiting this restaurant for years and have invited friends and family to taste the excellent quality food. The downside is that due to the popularity of this restaurant you will have to wait a long time. They do not take reservations. But their corn cob tapas rolled in some mouthwatering Spanish butter and cheese mix and other... More
