Steaks consistently and significantly overdone

We go to this place a few times a year for business lunches. The atmosphere is nice. The food has potential, but unfortunately the preparation falls short. On the latest visit, we ordered 3 steaks, 1 rare and 2 medium rare. All were well done with not a touch of pink. Unfortunately sending... read more

Nothing overly positive or negative about this restaurant. I ordered the filet and it was good but probably not worth the cost. Wine selection was good and staff made helpful suggestions.

Went to a party with 200 plus people--did a good job. Friends did eat downstairs and said it was good.

Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Plenty of options to chose from and a great staff made the meal even better.

We have been to Umbria many times and have always found the steaks and veal to be really good. Service is friendly and efficient. The ambiance is good. Prices have gone up significantly in the last couple of years but it is still worth a visit.

Located in the Fanuil Hall area of downtown Boston, Umbria is a feast waiting to happen. Steaks, and of course traditional Italian pasta dishes. The open air ambiance is romantic and for a moment the meal could be in an Italian open air cafe. The service was good, but the wine list is pricey. Make a note, they're not open... More

We ate here a couple of weeks ago on a weekday evening. The good points about this restaurant were: (i) the decor - quite traditional, up-market ambiance (ii) the dining experience - attentive service from a very friendly waitress (iii) the starters, particularly the salmon tartare (absolutely lovely). The bad points were, however: (i) the reception - the head waiter... More

We enjoyed a great lunch with great service at Umbria. Pastas and appetizers were excellent. Service was good, very friendly and attentive. 1/2 portions allowed for smaller appetites or some mixing and matching. All the entrees were excellent. Highly recommended.

Too good! Umbria comes through with awesome good and great service. Tried the veal special. Wow! I'll be back. Prices not bad for what you get.

Another great recommendation from Connor ,the wonderful concierge at Omni Parker House Hotel . Great location and a cosy atmosphere , our party got their preferences . The steaks were great and the seafood pasta was exceptional . We shares a seafood platter appetizer that had a great selection of clams ,oysters ,shrimps and lobster . The service was prompt...
