An excellent find

We dined here by chance - we were staying at the Hotel Commonwealth and arrived too late for our original reservations elsewhere. What a blessing. The bar is amazing. It's said to be the longest marble bar in Boston. I think it might be true. The menu is relatively small with something for... read more

We had terrific service, and generous portions for brunch. Loved the old-school charm of this restaurant.

Had dinner at Eastern Standard while staying at the Hotel Commonwealth. The service and drinks are the best in Boston. My wife and I had main courses (rigatoni with cheese) but I think we would opt for appetisers or sandwihes the next time. Great people watching bar and the friendliest bartenders in Boston. If you're visiting Kenmore Square you need... More

We ate here several times during Valentine's Day Blizzard as several members of group unable/unwilling to brave the weather, food well very nicely prepared and served promptly.

The Eastern standard is the restaurant that is connected to the Commonwealth hotel. The food is more of a Continental style (American/European mix), and was quite good for the most part. We had the Charcuterie as an appetizer. My dish was a pork T-bone, which was also quite good. I also dined there for breakfast. The service was professional and... More

Words cannot describe the awful service I had while dining here, by far the worst I have ever had. Management did little to assuage the problem. The food and drinks were amazing, when we finally got received them, but the overall experience was miserable. I wrote an email to management the next day instead of coming to social media. It... I've walked by Eastern Standard many times and thought it would be over priced and stuck up. WRONG. Great restaurant that is full of life and character. They have an extensive wine and drink list. Something for everyone. The food was very good. I had "just a" grilled cheese and it was delicious and the fries are worth it right... More

Definitely would return if in the area. Food was delicious and it was first time having shrimp with grits. It was simply amazing! The service could have been better as the server took forever to return to the table. Ambiance is lively and just a great brunch spot.Delicious food.
