Food was okay. Fun to people watch. Made the mistake of ordering carafe of white wine daily special. It tasted like the stuff you rub on canker sores

We visited Boston in June 2015. We at brunch at Eastern Standard. It is located on the opposite side of Hotel Commonwealth. This restaurant is also owned by Garrett Harker - owner of the Island Creek Oyster Bar. The food at Eastern Standard was delicious. I loved the decor. It was another enjoyable eating experience in Boston. I would highly... More

We were walking down the street from Fenway Prk after the Red Sox game. All the local pubs outside the park were packed and so we decided to keep walking. We turned and saw the Eastern Standard and I knew THIS was the place. Wow!! I saw the seafood platter on the menu and that was it... Amazing!!

Came here once during our stay as we stayed in the Hotel Commonwealth which is connected. This was a great place to eat. We sat outside on beautiful day before a baseball game and then went to the game. This was a great meal and great wait staff. I would definitely take a date here that I wanted to impress... More

Prompt service, Rigatoni was good; spouse's chicken was OK...mixed drink a bit weak (Hendricks/tonic/cuke). Good ambiance.

What a nice surprise! Arrived in Boston at Midnight; stomach still on CA time. Had heard good things about E S, and we weren't disappointed. Great food value, chefs know the meaning of RARE; Damon, our fist class waiter, topped off our wine as we waited too long to make the "last call"; and the atmosphere is upbeat and friendly.... More

Enjoyed dinner last night at Eastern Standard. It was the first visit for our group but will definitely go back. Oysters were excellent to start with. Good salads and great salmon. Best thing on the menu is their french fries- thin and crisp and very flavorful. Be sure and order them. Lovely wine list with good French European and California... More

My wife, our friends and I stayed at the Commonwealth Hotel during our stay in Boston. The Eastern Standard restaurant is a part of the hotel. It was excellent. The food, service and location were perfect. Every morning we had a large bowl of fresh fruit, oatmeal with blueberries and eggs that were cooked to perfection. It is clean and... More
