My husband and I ate here on our last night in Boston on a recent trip. We were exhausted from a day of (enjoyable) sightseeing, and didn't want to go far from out hotel. We took a chance on Petit Robert Bistro--we didn't have a reservation and hadn't read any advance reviews of it. To be honest, I was afraid... More

We first discovered this hidden gem a couple of years ago while in town for a Red Śox game. We have been back a few times for dinner since. A really nice atmosphere and great food.

Visiting our son at BU and in the mood for something other than (the always wonderful) seafood or Italian my wife happened upon this place and we were so glad she did. It's a surprisingly authentic French bistro set in a nice, airy space. The menu was varied and replete with traditional fare, the food was delicious and the service... More

My friends and I made the mistake of going there for dinner last Christmas. We specifically chose this restaurant because of the menu items displayed on their website. Not only that, I called them to make sure these items would be on the menu for Christmas and was assured they would be. So the big evening arrives and the items... More

We went to Petit Robert for Mother's Day lunch and they not only met, but exceeded our expectations! Looking out onto Comm Ave, with spring in full bloom, it was as if I were sitting in a Bistro in Paris. From the moment we were greeted by the host greeting us fluently in French at the front door, to the... More

Dropped in for a quick lunch not expecting much. We sat at a table by the window - lots of nice light, linen on the tables. The waiter was friendly and efficient. Had the onion soup. Really quite good. They brought a warm baguette with real butter. My dining companion had the beet salad and said it was superb. Ordered... More

I always expect vestiges of Maison Robert when I dine here, but there, was no evidence of that. The four,of us thought, the food was mediocre,,at best. My venison (?) was drenched in what tasted like canned brown gravy, was served, not, even luke warm, and was so tasteless, I,sent it back. The replacement Tilapia was very good, but the other three fish orders,were... More

An intimate and quiet spot on busy Comm Ave. We were seated downstairs but there is plenty of light. We loved the Steak Frites with the peppercorn sauce and the mushroom risotto. Wine list is very reasonable - try the Malbec. Our waiter Luis was terrific - very attentive and helpful even though every table was full and it looked... More

Went here on a week night and set up is quite all school and atmosphere a little oldie. The menu didn't really excite but the food was good, though felt the veg and potatoes were heated up. We had risotto and calves liver, both very tasty, though the liver was a little overcooked, despite asking for it to be under... More

Petit Robert Bistro is always a favorite on my trips to the Fenway area. Unassuming, it offers excellent bistro fare with great service, delicious homemade bread and yes, real butter! A little touch of Paris when you are in the mood for bistro food.
