Impressed!

This was a great find. Nestled away behind Boston Common it's located not too far off the beaten track. Service is slick and efficient and the servings large. The quality of food is superb although of note they don't serve alcohol.

We lucked out and were seated right away on a busy night - New Year's Eve. Their naan was great - both soft and crispy bits, just the way we like them. We wanted to try their pizza but they were not making pizza at the time. Good samosas, not too spicy. We enjoyed our curry, butter chicken, tikka masala,... More

Tantric is a beautiful and elegant restaurant that does not serve alcohol, but has a great location and friendly staff. It is still casual, but a dress or jacket would not be out of place. The food was very good with many vegan options. I was embarrassed because I cleaned my plate with nam bread.;)

They are unprofessional. Terribly managed. Manager has no clue of what's happening. Average food. Definitely will NOT recommend. Instead try Maharaja.

We had the lunch buffet which was good value and a variety of meat and vegetable dishes. The staff were very attentive. Worth a lunch visit.

We didn't make a reservation (ooops), and when we arrived, it was quite busy. The staff were quite attentive, and let us know several times that they hadn't forgotten about us. Wait time was only about 5 minutes, so hardly a disaster! Apps were Paneer Pakoras, and they were excellent! For the mains, I had the butter chicken, and my... More

Ate here with my wife and son during parents weekend at his college. Everything was very good, and we go to Indian a lot. We got appetizers and three different entrees, and all were excellent. Service was good also, and prices reasonable. You may need reservations for busy times or days.

If you are looking for a reasonable Indian meal in Boston, Tantric is a one place you should go. But beware if you are Indian and feel "spicy" is your choice.... Medium spicy Gobi Manchurian was too spicy here for an average Indian. And you might want to order a Lassi to cool off (which is the best thing I... More

After searching for an Indian restaurant close to Tremont St. we zeroed onto this place for our Indian meal of the day. Strangely enough, hardly anybody could give us the directions to either it or the Stuart St. So, made use of the free wifi in a Starbuck restaurant just off the Tremont Street, to do a google map search.... This was some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Nan. The meal was fantastic and the staff was very nice. I will definitely go again next time I'm in town.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
