Top marks Neptune Oyster, again !

This was our third visit to Neptune Oyster over a period of 6 years on visits to Boston from the UK. We were only in town for a night but as it was a Wednesday the nightly 'special' was fish and chips. Big deal you might think in a fish restaurant, but my wife had the special and it consisted... read more

Okay first let me begin with there is a 2 to 3 hour wait to get in here. We thought this must be great if people wait that long. Okay we started with the Triton Plateau, the Lobster had some kind of spices in it that made it inedible. The clams and oysters were good. The crab meat had pieces... More

I wanted to celebrate my birthday there and called twice to ask questions about the menu and both times the phone was slammed?!? I thought the first responder was rude so I tried again the next day: but no... It seems like it's their criteria to hire????

I had a funny feeling I might get wrapped in the whole tourist thing here. Although the place was decent and I've heard so much about it, I thought the oysters were Soso that day. Maybe I just caught the end batch, But not as good as I've had in many other places. Il give them another try because the... More

My partner and I went here for lunch on Tuesday around noon. We waited for 30 min but by the time we got seated the wait for the people who came around 12:30 had to wait for over an hour. They do not take a reservation. It is on the expensive side but their oysters tasted rally fresh and they... More

Had a blast at Neptune! If you go get the warm lobster roll with a few cold beers! It is in a great area to walk around and enjoy the history!

This is one of those places you talk about long after you return from vacation. We had heard from many locals that it is THE place for seafood, and the wait times verified that. We actually walked from our hotel, put our name in, then walked back to shower. Our seats were available sooner than they said, but they were... More

We started our Lobster Roll marathon here at Neptune Oyster and after four or five other rolls, this still ranked as the best. The hot butter sauce made all the difference. Oyster stew was a hit as well. We arrived at 11:00 Am for an 11:30 opening and I would recommend that as a strategy. Great neighborhood people watching while... More

The food is exceptional and we thought that this establishment served us the best clam chowder we could find. The oyster bar is also exceptional. Try the Johnny Cake for something unique and memorable. This restaurant is so good it is the only one we tried to go back twice to during our vacation but alas the line-up around lunch... More

We decided on a whim to go to this restaurant with two other couples that we met on a history tour. So glad that we did! They accommodated our group of 6 in about an hour, which we spent across the street at a pub. They will text you when your table is almost ready to give you time to... More
