Wanted to find great oysters on our trip to Boston and the concierge recommended Neptune Oyster. What a mistake. Two hour wait (no lie) and the surly staff literally seated everyone else before us including two large groups of what looked to be friends of the management and/or chef. The food wasn't anything special and $25 for a lobster roll?... more

although the restaurant was a little pricey, the new england clam chowder ( $11 for a hearty bowl,) was excellent- different than what we were expecting, thinner but loaded with chunks of clams and vegetables- the lobster rolls at $25 each were good, although a little salty. there was a line out the door and we were a party of... more

My cousin and I went during lunch. Even at lunch, Neptune was packed. We had a 20 minute wait but I love how they take your cell number and call you when your seat is ready. We sat at the bar. We tried some raw oysters, which were delicious and fresh! Then we had their famous hot lobster rolls. It... more

It was good (tho if I got the hot butter version again, I'd skip the bread and just enjoy the lobster and butter).. but can't see how its worth twice the price of most other lobster rolls I saw... more

On our first trip to Boston, we wanted to try a lobster roll. Upon reading various reviews, we decided on Neptune. The inside is like a small diner. We went for lunch and sat at the bar, as there were no available tables. I had the lobster roll, hot with butter and it was delicious! It was truly one of... more

Wow, the food here is incredible! We didn't waste our time with anything but the raw bar & the oysters & crab claws were fantastic! I cannot say enough good things about the food. The place is very small & seems to stay busy - I recommend getting there early (like when the doors open) to ensure you get a... more

Loved this place. Be prepared to wait and be prepared to dining elbow to elbow with your neighbor. That being said, it is well worth it. The oyster selection was excellent and the wait staff knew their stuff. They were very freindly and helpful. This is the place to go if you want to feel like you ate an authentic... more

Freshest oysters we ever had and excellent selection. On a Saturday night we were told wait would be two hours. They take your cell phone number so you are not tethered to the sidewalk outside. We went to another place to have a drink at the bar and Neptune called in less than 45 minutes. Our theory is that people... more

In Boston for only a few days ... upon recommendation by a bartender we were chatting with, we went to Neptune Oyster. It's small but has a lot of character. My husband and I ordered an assortment of raw oysters and the lobster caprise (sp) salad ... it was simply amazing. The girl sitting next to us had the Lobster... more

I LOVE NEPTUNE OYSTER. Best lobster roll I've ever had (with butter, not mayo- of course). Totten Inlet oysters are even better than kumamotos. Wish it was in Brooklyn. more
