Very small restaurant with fresh, seasonal menu. The space is a little tight for our liking. This was our first lobster roll with butter. It was good. Nothing I am dying to have again. The crab bisque was good, but I had hoped for more crab. You are paying for the freshness. Enjoyable meal and friendly staff, but not something... More

It was empty when we arrived at about 11:30 but the place filled to elbow-room only within ½ hour. No wonder. We ordered oysters and clams, followed by clam chowder and then a batch of fried Ipswich clams. Everything superior. Good selection of wines by the glass. Neptune lived up to the hype, and we were very pleased, if poorer... More

Neotune Oyster was recommended to us by staff at the hotel we were staying at. We were told to try the hot lobster roll. We arrived at Neptune oyster and were seated at the bar. We love it. I had a Gray lady beer and the hot lobster roll. It was so succulent. The best lobster roll in Boston. My... More

I was expecting this lobster roll to be phenomenon especially for the price and all the clout this place has.. It was mediocre in my opinion, very dry chewy lobster meat.. The fried clam strips had so much of that black gook in them that it made it unappetizing to eat. waited about 45 mins, went across the street to... More

I read the reviews and saw they said it was small and to go early. They aren't kidding…. we went about 5pm and were seated no problem. By the time we left there was a wait. The food was outstanding. We had the hamachi crudo- excellent and very fresh, the oysters- delicious and the descriptions were right on- first time... More

Lobster spaghettini is amazing! Worth the wait. Tables close together and limited seating so arrive early!

I'm a native New Enlander. And since I am Italian American, the north end of Boston is dear to me. Known for its Italian restaurants, there are some other great cusines they as well. This restaurant is the quintessential (every square foot of space used) New England raw bar. Counter seating limited to about15 people and table seating for about... More

Traveled to Boston to visit family. Researched oyster bars and Neptune had many positive reviews. Did not disappoint! Great seafood, exceptional wine. Be advised, the place is tiny with only 3 tables and a seafood bar area. They don't take reservations and the wait can be up to 3 hours, however, they will add your name to the list. We... More

On a trip with my husband, I was looking for all things elegant and authentic in Boston, and this oyster house fit the bill. Excellent position close to public transport and in the Italian section of town, walking distance to the train. Great oysters and beers, great people and very quaint atmosphere, just really small. Make sure you get in... More

Based on the Trip advisor rating I've visited this place. What to say... Not bad. Sea food is average. Not bad, not perfect. Lobster is not ideal. Lobster spaghetti is very good. Place is overcrowded by people from Asia. Really overpriced. Place is overrated. Could get better food for reasonable price few steps away.
