Freshest seafood in Boston

Oh wow. We just had lunch at Neptune Oyster, and were blown away. The place is truly tiny, but we arrived at 12:30 on a Thursday and were seated in 10 minutes. The oysters are the freshest anywhere -- they offer a wide selection, with a precise description of the location of harvest and tasting... read more

I had read many reviews of the different lobster rolls at Neptune Oyster and was looking forward to trying one during an impromptu visit. (A caution about the wait -- it's long. Admittedly, it was tourist season in late July, but we had a 20-minute wait at about 3 pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Be prepared.) I tried the warm... More

I love the look of the place. Every oyster bar should have so much character. Nice staff and fun regulars at the bar. But, a 2 hour wait at 11:30am is ridiculous. The clam chowder is just OK. It is thin, more like soup with 6-7 cubes of potato floating around. The flavor is just OK. I expected a lot... More

This restaurant is very tiny. They do not take reservations and the wait can be up to 2 hours. The service was 50/50. The woman who took names for the waiting list was very friendly and our waiter was not. He only chatted with us when it was time to pay the bill. The place is so small that you... More

This is a very simple case. The food is really good and the oysters superb. Service is overall good although I am not a fan of the 'no reservation' policy. As I have stated for other restaurants, I had to go here once but not again as I don't wait for 2 hours for a table if I can't make... More

The food was good, yes, but the ambiance was terrible, our server was absolutely rude and there was no air conditioning on an 85 degree day. In a city with such amazing food, why anyone would put themselves through this is a mystery.

The food was good. We had fried oysters, clam chowder, crudo and the North End Ciopppino. The food was good; however, the wait can be really long. We arrived at 4:00 pm and was told our wait would be 40 minutes. They actually called us earlier. The place is really busy but the service is extremely slow. The wait list... More

The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 on the review is the service. It is a super busy place but something was off with the service. It felt like they were short on staff...of course, there isn't a whole lot of room for customers, let alone staff. We were warned about the two hour wait and planned accordingly... More

To avoid the 2hr wait. Get there early The place only holds 32 people. It's well worth it. Absolutely the best lobster roll on the planet
