My wife and I went for lunch here from a recommendation of our family who live in Boston. All the food was great but the oysters were the standard. The menu for the oysters is set out in a way that reminds me of a wine list, with descriptions of flavours from other foods that, surprisingly, were all spot on.... More

Had chowder first, potatoes were a bit hard & broth was too runny. But the cold lobster roll was amazing. Small place, but it's little Italy, so get friendly:) Would recommend checking it out.

Had the lobster spaghettini (Monday special) for lunch. Not cheap at $38 but food of the gods. Go on a Monday to try it. Friendly service. Lovely interior. Good oysters.

On a trip into downtown Boston, we stopped at the Neptune Oyster. Their specialty is oysters on the half, that you select off of a list. The main course was lobster rolls. This is to die for! It isn't cheap and you may have to wait to get in. Old fashioned store front restaurant. Boston charactor!

We have eaten at the Neptune many times and have ordered one each of all of the oysters for each of us. All of the oysters are fresh and great tasting. The lobster rolls on top of the oysters is a great treat. Go early 11:00 and wait for the opening at 11:30 or go after 1:30. Good service.

We first visited Neptune in 2012 and loved the food, especially the lobster roll. We returned Thanksgiving week and it is still the best! If your schedule permits put your name in and then go visit the sights around the North End. They will call you when your table is ready. The bakery next door is very good!

We liked the CT-style lobster roll (warm with butter) at Neptune. You can get the Maine style, cold with mayo style, as well. The roll has been consistently good the times I've been to Neptune. The two things to remember are: you will have to wait, as they don't take reservations, and there is no separate lunch menu, so a... More

Our scallops were exquisitely prepared and the service was good, but it's a very small space and they don't take reservations. We shared a table with two successive groups of people (the first group was halfway done when we were seated), both of which were pleasant, but be aware of what you're getting in to. That being said, the food... More

The food was amazing...the server not so much. Space is tight so call ahead and be ready to wait for a spot, but worth it if you have the time~

Like the overall atmosphere as a small restaurant, but it's worth waiting for half an hour to enjoy the fresh oyster!
