Nice late lunch on a snowy day

This pub is part of The Lenox Hotel where we were staying, so we basically chose it for that reason because it was so miserable outside. We sat upstairs at a table where both of us could look out the window at the beautiful snow covered trees. The menu was perfect for what we wanted, and the... read more

Well located pub with 2 floors of seating. Upstairs is more open and doesn't seem as loud. Try the gouda & leek dip with toasted pitas - very tasty! My friend didn't like her beer and the bartender gave her another one for free, which was nice of her. The other great thing about this bar is that the bathroom... More

Had dinner and some drinks here and I really like the place. Location is great in Back Bay part of Boston near Copley. Shepherds Pie was very good and had some great beer to go with it. Very popular place.

Have been going to Sola's for years as it is directly across the street from my office and super convenient for all of my co-workers and I to grab a drink after work and catch the T home. Service and attention have always been great but the bar/appetizer menu could use some variety and improvement. Very limited and just "Ok"

Busy bar on cold night, many watching game on tv. Friendly server @ table. Great burgers & Irish beer. Close to our hotel. Is located in lobby of Lenox Hotel which has 2 other food establishments.

A medium-sized, semi-authentic Irish bar connected to the Lenox Hotel. The husband and I appreciated a few Irish beers on tap (Guinness, Smithwick's) and their selection of Irish whiskeys. The pints of Guinness were (mostly) properly poured, and at least one of the bartenders we encountered had a good amount of knowledge about the whiskeys. Good service, decent atmosphere, a... More

Lunch with friend and we both had a draft Guinness and the fish and chips. The Guinness was as expected and the fish and chips was a little disappointing. The f/c came with a tiny bit of cole slaw, a healthy serving of good french fries (freshly prepared and nicely seasoned), and one rather large piece of fish (probably cod).... More

We purposely selected Sola's based on the menu choices to satisfy the different tastes among a group of six. Traditional pub fare along with vegetarian options made Sola's the perfect choice. Food was yummy (loved the pretzels!) and the service was top notch.

Came in for lunch before heading out of town. This is another place I must stop in when in town, even if just for a drink. The food, drink, and service are all top notch.

Typical pub menu, with rich caloric items, i.e. shepherd's pie, Guinness, expensive and busy, loud not for dates who actually want to get to know each other.....

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
