Picture perfect historic exterior, with dark wood and flowers, I noticed as we did a Freedom Trail tour. We came back and were not disappointed. For lunch we had fast, great service, delicious fish & chips and historic atmosphere at Green Dragon Tavern along Freedom Trail. Our 7 year old they fed quickly. Not touristy. Colonial quotes, dark wood, toile... more

Came across this place while walking the Freedom trail. The olde worlde exterior complete with cobblestones and a Redcoat outside the door tempted us inside. We were greeted by a smiling young Irish girl who sat us and took our order with a friendly banter which made us feel right at home! Our meals, a lobster and shepherds pie arrived... more

I enjoyed the Green Dragon Tavern. I was seated at one of the window seats looking out at the Freedom Trail. I had a half dozen oysters which were on special for $0.95 each and the $10.99 lobster special. The lobster was not very big but for the price it was a great deal for Boston. I enjoyed both the... more

Just got back from a 2 day tour of Boston and 8 day tour of Maine, and the Green Dragon Tavern will be one of my best memories of my trip. I had a 1 1/4 lb lobster lunch special for $8.99. The atmosphere (especially if you get a window seat and watch all the Freedom Trail walkers go by)... more

Came upon this place while we were walking the Freedom Trail and we’re glad we did! The façade alone tempts patrons, with its charming windows open to the street and chalkboard listing specials like the lobster roll. Hostess sat us next to the open window and even took our picture from the outside (touristy yes, but I couldn’t resist!). We... more

If you're interested in experiencing a historic atmosphere in downtown Boston, the Green Dragon Tavern has just that and excellent food. Interior is more on the historical/rustic side so don't expect modern surroundings. I highly recommend their Clam Chowder....and I don't even like clam chowder. I attended dinner with about 10 other people during a business trip in July 2006,... more

Good pub fare, great New England Clam Chowder, but most of all it is wonderful to experience a piece of history. The tavern served as a meeting place for the Colonials who secretly plotted their actions against the British. more
