The Best Thing I've Ever Eaten

It's a good thing I don't live closer. I'd be as big as a house. The lobster tail is by far and a way worth the trip, even from NYC. There's nothing I know of that comes close. And at only 5 bucks? Are you kidding? This one pastry could easily feed 4. I didn't know about the table service.... read more

Good little place to stop for a cannoli after dinner. Friendly staff, and they have plenty of seating. Not the best in town, but also not the longest wait.

I was told by a friend to give this place a try and the cannoli was a must. After having dinner, four of us stopped for dessert and coffee. The cannoli's are to die for. We sat there for well over an hour and the traffic was still steady well after 9pm. Not a fancy place and bring cash...no credit... More

We had great fun trying to work out whether we preferred Modern to its competitor across the road. Decided in the end they were both wonderful and impossible to choose. Fewer flavours served here, but they fill each one freshly for you and boy do they taste great.

Excellent cannoli and had many authentic Italian pastries. It was very clean and professional. They also sold some Italian goods like Nutella. Must visit if you go to the North End

Great cannoli and cookies. Fantastic sweets. We had a late afternoon snack of chocolate dipped cannolis with choc chips. They were stuffed for us when we ordered, and they were delicious. Don't miss it if you are in North End

In the north end Italian area of Boston. Only called in to have a coffee but when we saw the selection of cakes could not yield to temptation! It is a popular shop and the queue was extensive, with only a couple of staff serving. But it was well worth the long wait.

Based on a recommendation from our waiter, we bypassed several desserts venues on Hanover street in Boston's North End. On a Monday night , the line was to the door. In 15 minutes, I received the soon to be infamous Lobster tail. More than enough for our party of 3 (including a 15yo daughter with a vintage sweet tooth), this... More

Right across the street from the cannoli tourist trap is this amazing bakery patronized almost entirely by locals. Skip the lines and the touristy premade baked goods, and try the ultra-fresh, only filled when you order, real-deal Italian cannoli. All the pastries here are amazing!! The shop is tiny, with seating only for a few people, so you may have... More

This establishment has been a fixture in the North End of Boston for over a half century. It was remodeled & expanded for more space about a year ago. Many first time customers are attracted to Modern Pastry, because of not wanting to wait in the long lines at Mikes Pastry which is basically across { Hanover st.} the street. But you will...
